How do you effectively kill the enemy summoners?

The big green guys. I've come to a small enclosed area in chapter 8 where this douche keeps spawning those hag sword slashers and I can't drop him no matter how hard I try. I pump ALL my ammo into this guy and hack away at him as much as I can (when I'm not pounded into the ground by the hags) but I just can't kill him.

Help me.

How did you kill them in previous level? Try to focus on arms, If summoner loses his staff he stops reviving enemies. Now, this depends on what upgrades/skills you have. Charged crossbow shots work wonders, quad shotgun strike is good too.

Also when summoner surrounds himself with shield I think he is invulnerable. You have to kill small demons to dispel it.

I don't think he revives the Warpers. Take them out first using the katana or shotgun and then go to town on the summoner (Shaman).

The most effective way I've found so far is either with a demon head or the katana. They're still bastards and take forever to kill, even with Godslayer and all the katana upgrades.

weird. I have no idea how I managed to kill him then. I think you gotta take them all out as quickly as possible, which for me meant whittling them down and then luring them into a corner where I proceeded to unload all barrels of my shotgun. It kind of just happened that way for me. He will still revive them but it will only be one at a time.

I usually tried to kill him as quickly as possible, so some high damaging attacks and weapons would probably do the trick, if upgraded you can use the rocket launcher to shoot all 3 missiles at once at him, or you can use the katana along with some additional fire from the machine gun and revolver to bring him down. The Shotgun can also prove useful with it's double (or even quadruple) fire.

They are really annoying enemies. I still think the Berzerkers are slightly more annoying, but both of them are annoying in their own ways.

As for the main question,charged divider of the heavens to the head takes him out in 2 or 3 attacks(on hard),easiest and fastest way.

At this point I had focused mostly on Katana powers and upgrades. I basically wage a war of attrition on the summoner itself. I run at the summoner, hacking and slicing at anything that gets in my way and then just KI sword power my way to victory by just continually dancing around the summoner slicing and dicing at anything that gets in my way, and using every KI / katana combo that I can summon to kill everything as quickly as possible including the summoner. It will get hit by all the splash damage that I inflict while attacking other minions as will the other minions as I attack the summoner. In little time arms will fall off or heads will roll and victory will be had.

I always keep an eye on every barrel in the game (thanks Hard Reset!) and blow them up when anything gets near them. Great for thinning the field in those mob intense situations. If there are barrels left over in an area after a fight your doing it wrong! lolz.

Oooh.. taking off his arms. I didn't realise that would stop him from summoning :P Oh well, beat them easily enough still.

I had the exact same problem, I actually had to switch from hard to normal in order to beat it. I realize now that if I had had the right katana upgrades (more damage from Ki strikes) it would have been way easier. If you don't have that, you're gonna have a bad time.

They are fun to fight! I like it when there's more than one but what i usually do is let the minor demons come close, do a circle slash. Sprint up to him and slash away, back to minor demons, rince and repeat. Now i have the triple shot on my rocket launcher and when i want it to be over quick i use that. The mobs are easy to kill but don't let them gang up on you and stay mobile. Akimbo machinegun also worked for me but it takes up all your ammo.

But once you nail them down they are so much fun to fight. You can also use your upward slashes to take his arms away. I remember chapter 8, first i died aswell but then i raged and went in with only my sword, no other magic as i upgraded only hp and stamina first with the health regen. The rage helped, it was my first 5 star rating. The special attacks on the swords really helped.

I don' t slash like a berserker also, i time my attacks and go in and out. I also love the demons with the shields. Finding that opening to get them in one hit with a forward lunge. Awesome.
