Enable/disable Gore?

Is it possible to enable/disable gore in this game, im not a fan of gore and the unrealistical cuting in pieces is shown in so many games with gore.
So the game itself looks interesting from graphic and atmosphery, but the gore totaly kills the game for me.

So can i deactivate gore?

If i remember corectly you could do so in the game "Brütal Legend".

Like i said the dismemberment & gore is an actual core mechanic of the game. Asking to turn off the gore in this game is like asking to turn off the Dismemberment from Dead Space...

Whouldnt mind if they turn that off in Dead Space, its not neccesarry, becouse a game is mainly defined trough the story and the whole atmosphery and not how much blood and body parts are flying around. Sure you now say that the body parts and the blood are part of the atmosphery, well possible. For me they just adjust the atmospery, and in this case, for me, they ruin the atmosphery.
So its not like i want to take your gore away from you, just a option for players who want less gore whould have been nice.

You cannot be serious:
The entire point of Dead Space's gameplay is to shoot off limbs. The game design is built around that mechanic.

Gosh, i really dont get whats wrong with the head of people who love to shoot or cut of limbs in videogames, it is a totaly not neccessary addition option, every game with story will last even if you only shot on the enemy, it falls to the ground and is dead(or even vanishes).
I dont get how someone can enjoy to cut or shoot of body pieces,from my personal oppinion, that is just mental sick. But whatever, i cannot deactivate it in this game, so we really need to stop this conversation. This game is not for me, and you can enjoy playing it.

I for one LOVE that for once, the bodies don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disappear like magic into little fairy dust. That drives me NUTS and it seems to happen in 99 percent of games released (even in this day and age)

i ALSO love the passive aggressive jabs at our psyche for enjoying violence in our video games. Great how he/she implies it excites us sexually as well !

my eyes couldn't roll more when i read about how disabling gore is more realistic than chopping off body parts with a sword and having the baddies fall down like pieces of split wood.

you just sound too delicate for an M rated game.

Im sure it doesnt make sence to advance this conversation, becouse you guys/gals are fixed on your statement and you like the game the way it is.

In real life its not even close to what this game shows. In real life blood does not splash like this.
And to cut of a body part like that you need a very sharp katana, and i whould bet that after 3 cuts the katana will be no more sharp enough to cut a piece away. And dont forget, some enemys wear armors, the katana whouldnt hit trough steel or similar materials.

Yeah anyways now you can say, demons have more blood and they slash when get hit, and there is a hidden wizzard with magic powers who instantly sharps your Katana.

And blood, under certain circumstances, can splash like this. Maybe demons just have high blood pressure because their world have stronger gravity or something like this.

Who cares about realism in a game like this? You apparently. :) No one cares that Duke Nukem is not realistic, so why should this game be? I think you're missing the point of what this game is all about, which is over the top action.

If you're looking for a realistic game with katanas, you'll just have to look somewhere else, because wishing this game was more realistic is utterly pointless. They went for a certain style, which you don't have to like, and that's fine.

I'm a little late to the conversation, but the limb cutting was necessary to Dead Space (at least the first one). Necromorphs weren't the usual zombies that you just destroy the head to kill. You needed to cut off at least 3 limbs to keep them from even crawling towards you. It's a little like John Carpenter's The Thing. Made the game a little more challenging that the regular zombie shooter since you needed to be faster and more precise with your shots.

I'm from germany and i've never heard of somebody who supports censorship over here except for a few uptight politicians.
I've been a gamer for over 20 years and i would NEVER buy the censored version of a game, ever.
You can always choose between the "cut" and "uncut" version, almost every store offers both...
