Whenever you see him about to use the laser attack be ready to click shift a few times. When he fires use shift to move to the side a few times.
You're not supposed to sprint, you're supposed to dash forward a few times with shift.
Shoot the glowing armor parts, then when they come off shoot the crystals beneath them.
iirc if he gets close and does his stomp attack, just jump at the right moment to negate the damage.
While the game can be tough in some areas, the boss fights (esp. the first) is just a piece of trial and error until you learn his moves and how to avoid them, and reducing the difficulty is imho the wrong approach. If you are really stuck after a few tries, go and check on some youtube guide for that fight.
Btw. there are parts later in the game where you will be really challenged, the boss fights are actually easy compared to a few sections in the game.
Multiple Berserker in a tight place + trash mobs + Summoner = Raaaaaaaage!!!
And while it might be a bit immersion breaking for some people, imho it fits the gameplay really well, and srsly, being "Wang" is all about style, so it fits to be rated on it.
Wang's selling point as a merc is of efficiency and signature style identified and discussed in-game so playing in character is driving force for the title and simply fun to boot.
