Hello everyone!

The amount of love and support Medieval Crafter: Blacksmith has received since launch is incredible. Thank you so much for stepping into the forge and helping us fix bugs and iron out its shortcomings.

Hotfix 1.01 Patch Notes

Before we say ROCK AND STONE! again, let’s dive into what’s been fixed in the first hotfix.

Night stuck bug fixed

A bug that prevents the day/night cycle from progressing has been resolved.

Durability loss on sharpening fail condition removed

Your equipment no longer loses Durability when a failure occurs during the sharpening.

Sharpening fail case condition nerfed

Alongside removing the Durability loss, we’ve also adjusted the fail case condition in the sharpening minigame.

Dwarf sounds reduced even further

We’ve heard you. We’ve reduced the number of sounds our Dwarven blacksmith makes.

Fixed a condition that causes the enchantment effects to disappear after loading game

A certain issue caused the save file to be corrupted and lose the enchantments on the equipment you've forged. We've fixed this critical issue and apologize for the inconvenience.

Fixed the base price on the price setting window

The base price on the new price setting menu was not working clearly, resulting you to adjust the prices manually all the time. The base prices for the gear you've forged now make sense.

Greetings, blacksmiths!

The long-awaited 1.0 update has finally arrived. Thanks to your love and incredible support, we’ve hammered Medieval Crafter: Blacksmith over the last year and finally brought it to full release. Thank you!

Now, let's talk about what's new!

1.0 Is Here: New Zones, New Minigames, Core Loop Enhancement, and More!

We’ve overhauled the core forging and mining mechanics, expanded the kingdom with new zones like the Docks and the Arena, and added highly requested quality-of-life features to help you manage your workshop more efficiently.

Here’s what you made possible with your support and feedback.

New Zone: Trade like a dwarf at The Docks!

Expand your reach beyond the mountains. The Docks are now open for business for your dwarven trading ambitions.

Trade Network: Meet the new merchant to exchange your crafted goods for rare raw materials, or vice versa. The trader is also keen on incorporating capitalist tactics, so keep an eye out for limited-time trade deals.

Mini-game Overhaul and Crafting Mechanics

We’ve completely overhauled the crafting, forging, and mining mechanics. Your skill as a smith now directly impacts the final product. Now, every step of the process matters without feeling too repetitive.

Quality Scaling

The output quality of every item is now determined by your performance in the associated mini-games.

Forging

Precision is key. Hit critical points consistently to boost the item’s quality. Make sure your hammer hits the sweet spot every time it meets the anvil if you want better gear quality.

Mining (New Mini-game):

The ores of the mighty earth now have a rhythm. Make sure you’re hitting the weakest spots of the rock to extract highest-quality ores.

Sharpening

You can’t take anything for granted. With the new Sharpening mini-game, you can make the weapon deadlier. But a mistake can also damage it. It’s all a balancing act.

Assembly

Final quality is now cumulative. Assembly mini-game now results in superior finished product if you assemble high-quality products together.

Shop and Economy Improvements

A true dwarf is a merchant at heart. You can now dive into manuel pricing to guarantee maximum profit.

Dynamic Pricing

You now have full control over your sale racks. Set high prices for premium margins (slower sales) or lower prices to clear inventory quickly.

Custom Orders

Customers now request specific traits. Perfectly match these optional requests to earn a massive bonus.

Customization

Decorate Your Forge: Be proud of your work and showcase their might. Place statues of your proudest crafts.

Hero and Workshop Management

We’ve streamlined the "manager" side of the game so you can spend more time at the anvil.

Unified Hero Management: No more going back and forth to the Heroes Hall. Manage all your heroes, stats, and equipment from a single screen. This was one of the most requested QoL updates!
Mass Repair: Keep your heroes battle-ready with a single click. Repair all equipped gear instantly (for a cost, of course).
Bulk Crafting: Save time by crafting essential items, like repair parts, in large batches.

Optimization

We have made significant performance improvements across all zones to ensure higher frame rates and a smoother gameplay experience.

Miscellaneous

New Features & QoL

Added an inventory sorting button.
Added a "Loot All" button for chests.
Increased the stack sizes for crafting materials.
Hovering over items now shows interaction options, and hero tooltips are much more detailed.
Added new icons to the minimap.
Added a Tutorials menu in case you need a refresher.
Added Windowed mode.

Audio & Fixes

Added an option to mute the dwarf noises.
Fixed the sound explosion that happened when loading a new game.
Normalized the game's audio so volume levels are much more consistent overall.
Various balance changes.

Where is the customer?

I completed my first order, did a few quests, adventures, and crafting tasks, and then went to find the customer, but I cannot find them anywhere. Since the customer is missing, I cannot proceed with the quest or earn any money, which means I am completely stuck and cannot make any progress....

This is a travesty. Obvious AI generated profiles of literally every npc that doesn't even try to match what the actual model looks like. There's basically no customization on the items you make, you just make the part and shove it together. You barely even get to see the forging process as the majority of your field of view is blocked by your giant ass hammer which wouldn't be too bad if you didn't need to strike specifically marked parts of the piece you're forging. Except you don't really, you can just hammer on the same spot without any real consequence. All the while your character will be making concerning grunts and one-liners that sound more like the game is trying to convince how epic you are for making a brittle ass copper axe that isn't even visibly made of copper. Which brings me to the art style or lack of it, zero consistency in pretty much anything makes it clear that most if not all assets are straight from the asset store with little to no touchups. Even the forged parts just have missing textures at the spots that's supposed to connect to the different pieces which makes me believe that they just cut up a bunch of weapon and tool assets and didn't bother to actually make it look halfway decent. Then you finally level up and all of the perks you can choose from is ♥♥♥♥ like faster mining, faster forging and longer burn times instead of something interesting and relevant like unlocking different forging techniques.

In short: absolute ass.

Fair response though I strongly doubt the character profiles are hand drawn I do want to clarify that my main issue with them is that they both don't represent the characters well and just kinda look bad. For what it's worth I hope that you'll be able to make this game into something good but I won't hold my breath, so best of luck in that regard!

There is still some polishing left, but with 1.0 the game is now much more enjoyable than it was.
With the update a lot of bug fix get rid off.
The performance is now great!
Unfortunately the motion blur is still there, but with cranking up the fov to 80 its not so bad.
All together its a positive review and big kudo for the devs for making this game only by 3 of them!

This is an awesome game. I had an itch for a blacksmithing game ever since I played jacksmith on armor games 20 years ago. Alot of games have aspects of forging and blacksmithing but nothing ever scratched that itch as well as this game did. You can clearly see that alot of effort went into making this and it shines as a result. So far I'd say this is worth every cent and I'd like to thoroughly recommend this to anyone who has that same itch. I'm eager to see more content and I wouldn't even mind if that eventually takes form in a dlc or two.

Heroes trapped in Tier 3 Dungeon

My heroes finished their Tier 3 dungeon with 100% completion. I can't claim the rewards as it says "There is no space for this item!" There is more than enough space in my inventory for all of the potential rewards, so I don't get what the issue is.
