They removed it cuz of the remaster. Typical of Square Enix to release the remaster almost everywhere else but completely forget us, though.

I find it a bit of a questionable move to remove this version considering a PC version for the Remaster hasn't actually been confirmed. It's like they wanted to retcon this into PS4 exclusivity or something.

thats pretty much what happened. by putting money into advertising the ps4 version, people whould find and maybe buy the steam version instead which is way less profitable per copy sold i imagine.

You could always search the 2nd hand market and maybe get llucky and find a Physical PC copy.
I still have my Physical copy. which is funny because the physical version makes you get a steam account for DRM purposes, giving you access to the Steam version. Dunno if it's do that anymore, but that's how i got my steam account to begin with.

Bought it today at a key shop for less than 4,00 €. The game can still be activated regardless the fact that you can no longer find it via the search on steam.

Square listed that 15 games will come to steam in near future, but wont say which games that are. We can now only hope they bring remnant
