Honestly the only thing I will miss personally when returning to the first crusader are the unique lord models and the ranger unit
Live behind AoE is what they do...
Aoe HD 2013?
They Rush Stronghold HD 2014
AoE2 Definitive edition?
Now we get a Stronghold HD...
At least AoE got a proper "IV" Firefly lost totally the scope with this one and the next one... both feels visually and mechanically like a 2015 game... And barelly received upgrades related....
We living in a world where management games have public, there are appearing games with destruction, voxels, massive maps... and stronghold cannot evolve nor even scale properly for modern times or a fanbase not relaying on nostalgia... They tried experiments like Stronghold kingdoms but they cannot make it a bigger scale at least... literally Stronghold crusader with more open building areas.... could be lit... ot it could be a whole province and you could add mercenaries post (copy mechanic from sins of solar empire) and add other castles you may ally.... add tech tree based on cultures... make sieges something that takes time, where placing ambushes for caravans may be having an impact overtime... experiment with a grand royale conquest map...
But their choice is to keep living from the same identical game 2 decades
