If you have six people who want to play at the same time you may have to go to Stronghold 2 or Stronghold Legends which have both been recently upgraded to a Steam version. I think both of them support up to 8 human players but you may want to check to be sure. If you get those games, get the Stronghold package; Stonghold 2 and Legends automatically update to the Steam version.
Another thing you could try is to link two players in a co-op configuration and they may only count as one person. That way you could have two sets of two players in co-op mode and two in regular mode. This isn't a very good solution since playing co-op is kind of lousy.
And this isn't.
I wasn't sure if that worked or not - I got five people in a game lobby once that way. I never started the game with that configuration because the two co-op players didn't want to play that way so one left the game.
