Master of darkness achieve

This is annoying me now, the assassins do nothing once I have a large group of them to attack the hermit and its impossible to kill him with just them as they suck at combat.

Any help?

- Custom Skirmish.
- Pick a map from the 2 or 3 player map pool. Smaller map means less travel time for your assassins. Don't pick a map that crowds the Hermit with mountains or rivers, as that will make him build a smaller castle and complete his walls in time.
- Set starting resources to highest (5000)
- Set handicap towards yourself (making yours 7500, and his 2500)
- Don't mess around in the custom settings menu. That seems to invalidate some achievements. If you want to try anyway, then you could try setting resources to zero as it will stop him building walls but has no effect on your ability to recruit assassins.
- Start the game.

- Place a mercenary tent.
- Place a bunch of houses right next to your castle. Having more houses makes your free population raise faster allowing you to recruit faster.
- Buy Assassins until you have ~2000 gold left.
And then just goonsquad him.

The achievement takes like 5 minutes to do; it's seriously easy.

Yeah thanks I got it shortly after posting this, at least this thread will be there for those who are having trouble.

Kind of got it by luck though as his men were distracted by my starting soldiers and somehow my assassin got the last hit.

Build a big economy, 5-15 assasins defending/standing near your big tower (where starting archers are), wait until you have over 300 assasins to attack, then storm the enemy castle.
Destroy the enemy gate first, then move your army inside, and only then command them to the enemy keep.
A satisfying, cheese-free experience.
