On a side note, if you'd like to make some adjustments yourself, here's a simple way to do it.
Download the "makev" tool. It works like WinRAR or WinZIP to open the assets.v file found in directory here, "steamapps/common/Stronhold Crusader 2/assets/assets.v".
To use the "makev" tool you simply change the file extension of the assets.v file to txt like this, "assets.txt".
To do so you have to look up how to enable changing file extensions. Once you enable the file extension viewing, you should be able to change the extension just like any filename.
Then you drop the assets.txt file into the "makev.exe" file you download from wherever you can find it online and it'll spit out an assets.v that can be opened with WinRAR/WinZIP.
The file "rules.xml" within can be changed to modify units, costs and trading.
Once done editing, simply drop the modified archive assets.v back into the "makev.exe" and it should be ready to use.
Of course, make backups of the original assets.v file or just remove it have steam check the integrity of game files to fix it.
----P.S. If you find the mod, I want to open it up and look at it to see how he managed to edit unit speeds. Changing the rules.xml file walk and run speed values for units doesn't actually do anything. If I remember, stronghold 3 had these in specific unit script LUA extension files under 'gait' speeds. From there I could also change what items units appeared to have equiped, so I could for fun make swordsmen and macemen occasionally appear with spears, maces and/or swords for a more diversely armed army. I'd also given archers, crossbowmen and such the appearance of having a sword tucked away for melee usage. Bottom line is, to balance the units the way I want (so that they aren't all so stuck to one role in life and can be diversely useful) I need to be able to change their speeds. If you know where the mod is, or better yet, how to change unit speeds, let me know pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like the game, but some bugs are really annoying (e.g. archers shooting through hills etc.), and I think, that the units are not well balanced (especially the arabs are very ineffective against steel armor)
I got my files from https://forums.strongholdnation.co.uk/topic/527-mod-for-stronghold-crusader-2-templars-nightmare/, so maybe you can have a look on those files ;)
The Black Grouse used to have to update his mods every time that Firefly patched the game. I never found out what he had to change or what caused the problem.
The original post for the 1.3 Templars Nightmare mod said
"Upgraded to gameversion 1.0.21195 and DLC Hermit/Emperor (13 may 2015)"
The game must have been patched after the Grouse's last mod.
