Black Knight 2000's Table award is infuriating
This is just me venting, pay me no mind

This has to be one of the hardest challenges i've ever had the displeasure to attempt.
after 4 hours straight i couldn't get it.

if anyone dosen't know what i'm talking about, there are 2 sets of 3 tiles you have to spell. for example (K N I) - (G H T) and you have to do press these tiles 5*6 = 30 times each set of 6 letters, lights up a yellow letter from the word BLACK, and finally once its lit do a ramp shot to get the achievement.

my frustration lies on how awkward it is to aim at these letters, they always leave you in a scuffle situation where you can easily drain. You need to do tons of live catches to control and cradle the ball as much as you can without haphazard movements.

if that wasn't enough, if you take too long to hit one of these 3 letters of the 2 sets, they reset, and you have to do it all over again. for example( If you did K N ) but took too long to press the I, it resets.

add insult to injury, when you are close to complete it at the yellow letters, the reset timers get shorter and shorter, specially at the yellow letter K

This is just evil, its not even funny, if someone can get the table reward of black knight 2000, on realistic physics, i'll call you a TRUE gamer.

Anyone with experience with the real table can confirm it's just as much of a pita to do it for real?
I've done it before on Pinball Arcade, and it was just as much of a pain there. I'll probably do it again, given enough time.

I imagine it's just as painful in real life.
you first need to activate multiball first to hit all the letters. on the top/bottom rows as i recalled from pinball arcade.
This was a rather hard table award to get, however I do want to stress the fact that everything can be achieved with constant practice.

It's not something you'd even try on the real thing, unless it was on free play and you just decided you wanted to. The reward (lighting a million shot) isn't worth it compared to other things you can do. After the first couple of letters, the risk of bashing the targets quickly, probably multiple times, is more than the reward of relighting your outlane saves. The reset timers would be the same as a factory install on a real table.

I can recommend the "Distance" challenge game mode for attempting this. Timing is still brutal but it is still very doable within the distance restrictions and it completely takes the drain issue out of the picture.

Still hard though, but that's how I managed to do it in a couple of tries.

Good luck!

Oh you're briliant! i've never thought about doing it in a challenge. Thank you so much, will give it a few tries later today! :healthvial:

I've not really been too concerned with achievements, but I do appreciate a good challenge. As much as I have played this table, I admit this particular achievement is quite maddening, and it was nice to find a method to accomplish it.

Thanks!
Yeah, the distance challenge is clearly the way to go here. Thanks for the idea. It's cheesy, but less so than the actual goal is. No regrets whatsoever.
You are very welcome.

It might be a bit cheesy but it also transforms the challenge from 'frustratingly hard' to 'fun hard'. :)

This 'strategy' of course also works for several other table awards. At least for those which don't require you to start or win the wizard mode... - for those I recommend to use the arcade mode with the 'ball save' boost. ;)

I'm trying to think of another one that would benefit from that that I haven't beaten previously and not really coming up with one. That's the only goal that's essentially "spam the drainiest shots on this table over and over, but not so many times that distance mode would definitely run out" lol. But I'll keep it in mind for potential future Bally Williams solid state releases.

Definitely the ball save perk ftw on any tables that have one (it wouldn't help here). And RIP rewind, that was the ultimate crutch, although farming duration for it was the worst.
