Reputation Benefits - Good or Bad?

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are that have played through a couple times on which reputation path seemed more beneficial, good or bad?

I don't have a lot of time to game and enjoy the game, just made it out of the prison and really didn't consider the ramications of my choices and would like to restart and focus on one side or the other depending on benefit. I like playing good or evil in games, no real preference so I feel if one has a greater benefit I would be remiss not to go that route.

There is a difference, in that it changes how the various NPC's react to you. For example, Innocence's personality will change over time depending on how you talk to him and whether you show mercy to enemies that you've defeated. I'm not sure, but I think that a high Reputation will also increase rewards and decrease merchant's prices.
