Why do people use Sky as a dating app?

I've been playing the game for years and the vast majority of people are kind and encouraging. However, I have noticed the overwhelming amount of creepy people pushing to date someone while not taking no for an answer, and crossing a lot of boundaries. By no means am I saying online dating is wrong but being a creep to people isn't ok. I understand that the developers have tried to resolve this issue in the past but the issue getting worse. Here's my question to all of you, why is this happening??

Oh my god really?? I'm so sorry you have this creepy interactions with people. Personally, I've never had this problem. But maybe it's because people see the "connect with friends" as an invitation to chase after players to date them. You should definitley report this kind of players because that is NOT okay. Thank you for adressing this issue.

I understand that I haven't faced the worst of these interactions, as they primarily target women. However, I am concerned about the well-being of children and women on Sky, and I believe this issue needs to be addressed.

I haven't experienced that yet but I have seen videos of it happen.

I don't play sky to hook up. I just want to relax and help moths candle run.

Is there a way to report a player doing harassment?

Free to play kids game, it is inevitable. I recommend not engaging with the text functions and just playing the game :)

There are 3 ways:

1. Light them, open the friendship tree and press the 2nd node on the right. That's the report button and even though It's greyed out it'll still work.
2. If they've said something in chat, you can also open the chat log and report their message there with the button next to their message(s).
3. You can contact Stellify in the official Sky Discord server.

I can't even begin to describe how creeped out i feel reading about sky-partner stories on reddit and such. Many people talk about their experiences as fond memories yet they don't even know the person they were dating at all, sometimes the relationships would last months/years without even knowing the age of the person.

If you see an online dater in a game full of kids, it's a good idea to stay as far away as possible.

okay, so there is like huge flood of these kinds of people recently, I reccommend screenshotting everything and even reporting people who even dared to do such thing.
if they scare you so much give them a warning along lines of "this is not a dating game, stop doing this kind of thing right now" this is my best advice against those people, I am sorry for everyone who had to experience this, I think best we can do is just report those kinds of people, that is pretty much it...

so, as the gaming community grows, it's possible to come across creepy people, but if someone bothers you, you can report it. However, I think that the community in general is still respectful and kind. But I think the developers have fallen short at some point. And they have a lot of problems to solve. Apart from that, everyone at sky can do whatever they want, it's not bad to date someone in the game, even though it's not entirely for the purpose of dating. If the game was against it, they wouldn't be trying to bring people closer.
