it lets you aim better than one that decides where to shoot regardless of what where you want.
run speed is your friend. just a little lets you outpace bugs easily
But that really counts for all weapons. Frankly I'd be happier if even the 4 direction guns had one aiming where you look at (+-5 degree correction to closest enemy). Would make a lot of the guns feel less annoying.
That model alignment mismatch should be easy to fix, but the fact characters seem to be locked into certain angles is likely deeply embedded in the game's logic and thus not going anywhere.
That said the gun is usable, and even very good if leveled, just very wonky (especially on KMB)
Then again, precisely because the Plasma Warthog Overclock is so good, this feels like a no-choice. You either take the Plasma or suffer, making for an AMAZING experience when you do get the Plasma Overlock and for an extremely MEH one when you don't.
