Containment Station is a terrible map design.
I've run this map several times, usually joining a fresh server and not bothering to look at the map, as literally every other map is fine. Some maps favor certain classes, with different maps favoring different classes. Except Containment stations. Movement and good engagement areas are how you stay alive in KF2, and even on normal, CS has terrible design. Most of the 'rooms' are tiny, and only have 2 doors in or out. This means that spawns come from both sides, pincering you in EVERY wave, Every time, every room. For the rooms with maybe 3 doors, the hallways are short and conveluted, making it difficult to pick off more than MAYBE 2-3 enemies before you have to back pedal room after room after room. The rooms are so small that you feel crowded on solo, with 1 player and 20ish zeds. Add ANY more players, and you feel like you're in a sardine can.

The decoration of the level itself looks shoddy as well. There isn't and WOW moments, or rooms that have more than maybe a bench or a desk, the only interesting part is ONE room has a window looking out at a bland space skybox. Every other level has ups and downs, choke points, and places that make decent engagement areas with usually a few possible routes to back pedal through if zeds spawn a wee bit too fast for you, or a particularly clustered wave with FP/SC scattered into it is pushing in closer than you like. CS has none of these. The skinny halls have tiny walls from boxes/doors that catch you, constantly, as you need to be picking off zeds as you back pedal, as there is no superior engagement area, ever, and so your back WILL be to these constantly, and you get caught on them as constantly. It doesn't really favor any classes, as only Berserker, swat, and support will feel slightly less hated in the tight confines.

I have no major issues with other maps, only feeling annoyed with them if I'm in a group with players who have classes the map supports more than my own, and that's usually assuaged the next map when mine is more supported. Usually, the only time you get caught in a corner is when you were careless and accidently backed yourself into one. Meanwhile, in the 5-7 foot long hallways that make up CS, you can find about 9-14 corners to get caught on by small boxes laying randomly about.

I just don't like it to play solo, but as a team, with friends, this is the most satisfying map.
Two groups of 3 people in each side of the control room and we can stay like this the whole game, even on HoE (the one with the big electric think in the middle).

To be fair Farmhouse isn't that bad. Balcony camping works, and barn kiting sort of works. The worst map right now is blackforest, every single time that map comes up I just leave the server. Not a single good spot on that map.

Spot? Doesn't that place next to the wheel work anymore? I hate when everyone goes there or enter the house and stays there for all the horde, camping there. Must be because I hate camping.

top of the hill by the train? choke point between between the carraige and the hill. done it on suicidal before. though on HoE i've only used one of the 2 zerkwall spots

To be completely honest, I've never actually had friends join me on CS, or kf2 in general. They simply can't scoop it. Wallyop brings up a point I can't actually say I have enough experience to rebuke. I have only had pugs join, and while I'm not anti pug, you invariably get THOSE idiots, and it's been them everytime anyone has joined me in a round of CS. Perhaps CS is a much better map with a coordinated team with VOIC, and the small hallways give easy sight on all the targets you have to prioritize.

On the point of FarmHouse, I think it's in an odd spot. The House itself is a decent design, but the yard feels small, despite being a larger open area with the oddly placed clutter, and the barn just...kinda there. The yard and barn aren't bad, but they aren't good, either.

Also, what you've said is correct. The small corridors and the predictable spawns just make it easy to prioritize the targets and to prevent some madness.

About farmhouse, yeah. When they launched it, devs said that this map was a test map, and, some people had fun with it and then They released. So, make sense to be a map without a lot of details and resources, like burning Paris, for example.

It's actually by far my favourite map in the game right now. Feels a bit like KF1 again with 3 players on each side holding a hallway.

Yeah, the maps nap city for me. Youre pretty much stuck with the usual same room, with the two dooways with long hallways for shooting galleries, and nothing spawns between your two teams. Spawns in most other areas are so extreme at times, that its very difficult to move elsewhere.
