unmarketable items?
yes, just why? all that effort goes into nothing. why would I bother to get stuff that has no value? it just makes a mess in my inventory and serves no purpose. instead i get 1 cent crates, but all the good stuff cant be sold. it feels like someone spits me in the face every time I get another of those

Because it is coesmetics?
You play games to have fun, not to make money.
Don't want the items, there is a recycle option.

it is tied to steam market so i want to use the steam market, wasn't my idea

They are personal reward items for players who stay loyal and play the events/weeklies/dailies/and now even just for killing zeds, bosses, completing SYG. All the effort to earn dosh is rewarded with free cosmetics to decorate your character like a discount christmas tree. The challenges can be fun to try to complete, they help keep things fresh, and you get cool knickknacks like - http://steamcommunity.com/id/GnomeDompski/inventory/#232090_2_1891947219685631482

If you are comparing Vault items to someone spitting in your face in the capacity of getting something for free, then I see what you mean. If you meant it in the capacity of something malicious, then I'm not quite following how free items could be received in such a manner.

The deal is this: you pay for game, play the game, get items, sell items, get another game. The game was tied to steam market so I assumed it produces items while you play it. And it does. However items that are not tradeable are completely useless. Its as if someone payed you for your job partly with real money and partly with fake money, randomly. Its offensive. I did my part, I played, got items fair and square, did what I was supposed to do. Now I just want to sell them on free market. If you want keep items within game, you dont tie your game to steam market - example - dark souls, all you get in game stays in game. In cs go all you get you can sell. Its either or. You cant have schizophrenia and troll people by randomly giving them sellable stuff or not sellable. Make up your mind. Same stuff is with other games like don't starve or SNOW. Its trolling and I am offended as customer. Either you enter free market economy or you dont, be consistent

I feel like you are taking this in the wrong spirit. The Vault was always intended to be a personal reward that helps keep players coming back. The only real deal here is that you get a game and play it with nothing else guaranteed. Many games have certain items that you can't trade or market, so I don't agree that a game having marketable items means that everything needs to be marketable. 75% of games that I have items for have items that I can't sell or trade.

Besides the Vault there are plenty of items you can sell. Every 12 hours outside of an event you can get a free items drop that includes some items worth a few bucks. Right now is an event where the increased the drop rate to every 3.5 hours with a min requirement of 30 minutes of the game open. In addition to that they are dropping event tickets, which have a high chance of dropping, that you can trade 5 of for a free event item, or if you are lucky you can get a golden ticket for a free Precious version of an event item. They even included a free Precious Mac 10 as part of the free drops. The Mac 10 can be sold right away, but the event items will have to wait until after the event to become tradable/marketable.

Well i am very gratefull for every chance of making money, I actually have a YT channel about it [27 tested games so far -move or die which canceled tradeable items] Making money while playing games is every gamers dream and for many people the only way to get games whatsoever. Most gamers are kids who have pocket money at best. And in most countries we are talking about very little money.

However wasting my time on useless items hurts. Unmarketable items should not even exist in inventory. What is the point of it? Games have in game items and if you can not trade or sell them there is no point to trash your inventory with fake items.

There is very big inconsistence with events too. vault is unmarketable, event is marketable after event, in case of dont starve, whole forge event was also unmarketable, depth said event items will be marketable week after event and they still are not. from what I understand, recycling makes no sense cause you still get unmarketables as a result. Its one big mess. All should go to free market or stay in game. I see no middle ground here.

What is the difference between vault weapon skin that is non marketable and another weapon skin that is? Both are acquired by playing the game. I did same work, with same effort. Why can't I make money on half of my loot? Is this a punishment?

What is more many games are tied to steam market even though getting any drops [marketable or not] is impossible. Its very unfair to customers. Also its misleading, at the moment of buying the game you dont know the droprate, the events planned, when something becomes marketable or unmarketable, whether or not drops will be in game or stop abruptly, you are making a deal which can be arbitrarily changed by 1 side. You have to pay, take a risk and then pray that you will get even or profit. This is not how economy works.

Don't you lie, you simply got Vault crates for nothing, since TWI do giveaway vault crates when there is some issues with it or it's a special event

The ones that are marketable you get by the end of the match every 12 hours. Vault items you get by doing objectives and collecting dosh, you earned them, instead of simply finding them by the end game

and you're salty, because you got some gold items and want to sell them for a decent price, well guess what... Vault precious items are worthless, they are as common as regular items. If they were marketable, they would be 0.03$

so if i earned them they should have value, right? even more value if they are harder to get, not 0. I am cool with 1 cent. it adds up.

good point, achievements already serve the role of boasting rights trophy, what is the point to creating item that behaves like achievement? occhams razor rule. Id gladly sell you all achievements, all bad games, and all game items. you know why? Cause I want to buy good games. I am a gamer and good games are all I need, you can take the rest

and as a gamer, you're supposed to spend your own money on games, not grinding money from games

And they shouldn't do that. Its misleading. Item is my property And I can give it, keep it , sell it or destroy it. Otherwise its not an item or is not my item. It is my money If I got it by selling items I own. Its steam rules, they made teh steam market, blame them if you don't like it not me, I just play along. Also free economy. People want that, I provide.

How is it misleading? You played too much CS GO?
tenser Mar 28, 2018 @ 5:18am
I dont play cs go cause it has bad droprate, also what does it have to do with the topic? CS go is horrible game with abyssmal droprate. I bought it cause I hoped for profit. Sadly I din not get even my money back so I stopped and move to other games
