Not hearing other people's VOIP.
So I've had this problem for quite a while and I'm wondering why it's doing this. I can't hear other people's microphones/VOIP in-game when I'm on my headphones/earphones. I can hear them through my speakers.

My audio setup is setup like this: 2 audio channels, 1 speaker is connected and at the same time headphones, through 3.5mm.

Whenever I launch any game or play games in general I switch the default audio to my headphones and the audio runs through it, no problemos. Killing Floor 2 is the only game instance that won't let me hear other's VOIP during the game. Tried the "solutions" using the search function but no success. Oh and this has been going on since forever.

-Want to humor us and quit discord completely via task manager then test KF2 in-game?

No success, cannot hear anybody even with discord off. In-game VOIP just isn't working. Others can hear me though. I forgot to mention, this is regarding the in-game VOIP.

in windows, goto windows box and open "sound".

Disable the "Steam streaming microphone service" and your mic ought to be the default that's no selected for Steam Voice Chat and also ought to work in-game chat, too, as it is the "default" mic and - opening sound settings from right click the icon on taskbar will confirm - it's the mic that's working.

That's my fix until Steam sort it out.

♥♥♥♥♥ about Steam streaming - I use OBS

// in your case, boontcha, you need to turn off "listen to own audio" is the settings for your devide, or disable all other recording devices (ie, usb cam) so that you can't get that.

Some one owes me a damn cookie - ain't even a fix on TW forums about this.

I had this issue for a while and only recently fixed it. All of my sound settings in KF2 were max, but the voice chat volume was basically silent. Turns out the voice chat is just unnaturally quiet, and so to fix it I had to set KF2's volume up from 9 to around 35-50 in the sound mixer, then turn down all of my music and other sound effects (to prevent my ears from hurting)) with the VOIP sound set to 100%. Fixed the issue for me.
