Event not appearing?
I've been playing KF2 these last couple weeks and have noticed that the event seems not to be happening for me somehow. I have the new map, and can see the weekly events, but even when I complete them I cannot get the skins. Even the new zed skins do not appear in-game. Is anyone else having this problem, or does anyone have a fix? I'll be pretty bummed if I miss out on a bunch of in-game content because of something like this.

Have you tried to verify your cache integrity? Have you tried re-installing the game?

Yes, unfortunately. Nothing really seems to work, and I've already missed out on a bunch of stuff. Might just take a break from the game for a while :/

make sure you are joining weekly servers

I've tried both weekly servers, offline event, verifying the game cache, uninstalling, and absolutely everything I can possibly think of. Nothing lets me claim the weapons I've earned, or get the new ones. Guess this event was over for me before it started.

-How about this huge wall of text:

I had exactly the same issue but thankfully managed to fix it in the most surprising of ways. Do you do IP filtering of government addresses? I do. Turns out that an address I was blocking, apparently belonging to Halliburton Company (IP: 34.193.144.67) was preventing all SS zed skins and sounds from working in the game.

No idea why, I thought the entire content was in the patch so no need for additional server access, but sure enough I whitelisted the IP and all zeds were properly skinned and everything worked perfectly. If you're using Peerblock or similar, check the log files to see if it's blocking something at a time that coincides with your playing the game. If it is, whitelist that address.

Hope that helps, cheers!

P.S. @Tripwire, why is this even necessary? Did you not include the SS content in that 5.5GB update?

Interesting. I am using Peerblock, and yes, the log does show the Halliburton Company. Now, this is confusing, because I fixed my problem at least partially and got everything SS related working: skins, UI, and everything.

What I did was reboot my PC and cut out the folder at C:\Users\MyName\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2 so to start fresh and get the default files. However, because I rebooted my PC I forgot to turn Peerblock on. So, it is one thing or the other.

Now all that's left is to collect my rewards and I don't think that's something I can do on my own.

We throw a call out to our analytics server at game startup and usually on map load to get tweak data. This can be anything from balance changes to things like what events are active. It allows us to do some amount of balance without requiring a patch, and allows us control over whether or not the event is on without having to patch in the event that something had gone wrong once the event was turned on.

Doing a ping to the URL that I know of, that looks like the IP of the server storing our analytics (should be sending out over something around port 10000?). If that's blocked your client would never be getting notified that the event is turned on, and wouldn't be getting updated balance data if you're playing in solo.

Thanks for the reply! I think that might actually be possible, but also impossible to fix, as I live on-campus and have no control whatsoever about the internet here (I can't even connect my 3ds for Pokemon) But thank you for the reply either way. I just hope this doesn't impact events in the future...

-You should have a helpdesk at the school right? Escalate within there until you talk to someone who is higher up and make sure you know what you're talking about and inquire if their firewall is blocking X and see if they can make an exception for the IP.

It's specifically the Halliburton company that needs to be whitelisted, right?

Everything's finally working! I just had to relocate 200 miles north or so, for some reason that worked. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm still going to lose out on all of the cosmetics that I earned, but at least I got to see the new zed skins once.
