Game performance degrades over time (about 60 min) *SOLVED* *ROCCAT mouse was the issue*
New patches no fix. I am having enought of it. I start the game it is fluent. I play for 60 and more minutes and game performance starts to degrade over time.

It is known unreal engine issue that was for example in UFO EU and many players suffered from it. Now same s*** is in this game but nobody in that pity company cares about some group of people who have that issue.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PROBLEM SOLVED!

Roccat mouse was the reason behind all this performance mess.

I own TYON and NYTH.

TYON created the worst issues even after 16-19 min. while NYTH after longer sessions like 120min and beyond.

It could be Roccat firmware issues or maybe even hardware?

After buying different gaming mouse all problems were gone!!
Before that I tested on very old optical mouse and there was no issues. So I decided to buy bew mouse but not Roccat this time.

Roccat did not replied to my 2 tickets about this issue so now I decided to warm people about this problem. If they wont try to fix it by releasing new firmware or acknowledging that their product is causing such problems and try to deal with it instead they are silent about it. So it is better to let people know how to fix it on their own and be able to play their favorite games without issues but with other mouse :)

I have the same problem.
Contacted Tripwire Support sometime in the first quarter of 2017, took them one and a half week to reply:
"There is no direct support we can offer you at this time"

I still have this problem. Have tried everything, even completely reinstalling Windows, but to no luck.
Will try to contact Tripwire again to see if they can offer some customer support this time.

I am curious... It has been many months since you had this problem. Did you find a solution?
Best regards :D

I have tried both low and max graphical settings. Even the sound starts to lag after a while.
Strangely the process "System Interrupts" gradually increase in CPU usage (hits 10% after one round).

Anyone else have this issue as well?
Edit: Typo

Try new/old drivers.

Hi! You mean graphics drivers? I have tried all drivers since the first quarter of 2017. This includes graphics, audio and Windows update.
All drivers installed now are the newest available.

Strangely KF2 worked perfectly for me since it released as early access. Suddenly in Q1 2017 this bug happened after the game updated (I think). Since then the game has updated a couple of times, but the performance degradation is still there :(

-Interesting. Your computer is much better than mine. Are you, by any chance, running an overlay, or shadowplay, or some similar recording software at the same time? Does simply restarting the game magically fix the performance issue? If you left the game idling on the main menu, do you still see performance degradation?

-How are you actually measuring performance degradation?

I usually have nVidia Shadowplay running. Bug is still there with Shadowplay off. Nothing else is running except drivers for mouse/keyboard etc.

Restarting KF2 temporarily fixes the game. I usually do this after every round to get KF2 playable again, but it still degrades as if it is the first start.

I have not tried idling in the main menu yet, but after a round in KF2 and I stay in the menu the degraded performance is still there until I restart the game.

I have tried measuring the degradation using Fraps, my monitors built-in FPS display and myself ;) (the lag is clearly visible without any monitoring software).

-Let us know if idling the main menu causes your FPS to gradually drop.

-Also, if you keep playing, and your FPs gets lower and lower, does the game eventually crash?

No I did not :)
What helped to make game playable? Only uninstalling and reinstalling. But it is just temporary fix. Game after reinstalling work fluent for longer time but after hours of playing all this problems came back and after 30 min I am starting to notice first slight FPS degrading then with time it gets worse.
I did not play KF2 now for longer time but my hopes that they will fix it just died.

What I read on internet about UE 3 based games it seem that UE 3 sucks in utilising some CPUs
So as long I will not have new CPU almost all UE3 based games will suffer from FPS degradation. Good that not many games are made on this poor engine or poorly utilised by some devs.

For now I dont need new CPU because my current one is still enough for modern games and for other stuff so buying new one just to get rid of problems with UE3 based games would be waste of money :)

My CPU is i7 3820
I have 16GB of ram
And I also tried to install it on SSD in hope that faster data loading will help but it did not help at all.

Games that had similar problems for me was XCOM:EU it also played ok for about 50-60 min then I had to make restart and play for next 50-60 min and repeat. In MP games like KF2 it is unacceptable especially if one 10 wave session can take about 40-60 min and game performance drop is causing annoyance and degrading in effectiveness so others can get annoyed to on me :)
That sucks.

In Bioshock: Infinite forums I found out that people have also such issues and that game was also made on UE 3 I personally did not play Bioshock so I dont have experience on that.
BUT I own UT 3 Black and I have no problem in this game at all!!!! It is UE3 also and I could play for hours straight and no single FPS droped over time. But Epic games know how to use their own engine :) Other companies did some mistake in files settings that must cause such issue. I found no solution.

Only similarity I found in that we have 16GB of ram. You have more recent CPU but still have such issue.

Anyway I blame bad UE3 optimalisation. I have no other ideas. GPU is no problem because I had 2 GPUs and only difference is that on my new GTX 1060 I have more FPS and over time degradation in FPS are less annoying. When I had 660TI it also made my sound to glitch out. Here is some guy that have this issue https://youtu.be/N76rkQK0yKo?t=15m46s

In my case audio glitching on 660Ti started quite soon in about 50min of playing. Now on 1060 it is not noticeable in first 50-60 min but may start after 2 hours but I almost no last that long in game because I restarted it after 60min anyway :)

In my case Steam FPS overlay. At first it is solid 60 FPS but after about 30-40 min I am starting to notice first FPS fluctuation and it looks like 1 FPS is starting to go away. I mean 60-59 fps fluctuation but it is random! Then after about 60 min it can fluctuate between 59-57 fps but game seem way worse than that and it feels like playing game that have 25 fps.

Also mouse lag tarts to appear while this issue start to appear.
When I only look straight it looks not that bad and game seem to have that 55-60 FPS but when I rotate around then it looks like 25-35 FPS

I have no patience to play longer that 2 hours with such annoying stuttering. But I dont remember crashes. Maybe only once KF2 crashed in my case.

BTW. WOW it took so long time to anyone to reply to this issue xD

Hey CoSm1c gAm3r, thank you for the thorough reply. This might help find the cause/fix :D
I am currently waiting for a response from Tripwire.

Idling in the main menu does cause fps to drop and System Interrupts to rise.
Doing this while game is running minimized in the background does not cause the degradation.

If I keep playing the game does not crash, but will become farther and farther from playable.
In my opinion the last couple of waves in a 10-wave round is too laggy (after a fresh start of the game).

I let the game idle in a singleplayer match for about 10 hours. When I came back the process System Interrupts would be as high as 60's% and the game would freeze for 1-2 seconds every second or so. The FPS would go as low as 1-3, then maybe jump up to 25.

Hey :)
It is good of you that you are trying but you see yourself how they treat people with problems. They ignore or reply after longer time and say that they cannot help etc.

This company is not trustworthy for me. First time and the last where I bought their game. They are incompetent thus dont deserve support..

Where I was still interested in getting rid of that problem and I seek sollution I found no fix except to restart that damn game every 50minutes which was annoying to do.

Company Firaxis is also on my black list because their game had same issue and they also failed to do anything about it... Also their game was abomination to turn based games and they ruined classic concept so that combined makes them dead for me.

Back to issue. IMO It is badly configured UE3 and if such company ignores it then no fix can be found. All they culd do is contact Epic games and ask for fix. It is nothing we users can do about ixcept changing PC configuration and live in hope that this issue will not appear on our new PC
But that would be ridiculous thing to do and very expensive.

I choosed to not play this game anymore :)

Advice for you. If you still have patience and would want to test this issue further then try other UE3 based games to see if this problems occur in most of them.
Borrow such games and make tests :) But it would need longer play than 1-2 hours once. It would require to play longer because this issue somehow builds up in our PC system.
As I mentioned when I reinstalled game I was able to play little longer before this issue appeared. Usually about 2 hours. Then on next game run it started to breake after 40-70 min. Weird thing :/

-Let us know if you're able to figure it out with TWI. I'm super curious. Out of the last year or so, I think you two are the only ones I remember having such a problem with a good computer. In the past it usually ends up being lower spec computers or overheating.
