Arrow Strafe/Turn Issue

I found solution for the arrow buttons movements that just turn your view instead of actual strafe.

I just edited this and checked it and it works.


Here's the fix:


Go to where your STEAM folder is located: Steam/steamapps/common/KillingFloor2/KFGame/Config/
Find (DefaultInput.ini).

Create a new folder in that directory and name it Originals.
Copy the original (DefaultInput.ini) file and put it in that folder for backup and safe keeping.

Now open the original (DefaultInput.ini) file With A text editor like (notepad) or (notepad++).

Scroll down, then look for the (Game Keyboard/Mouse Bindings) Section.

Below that you will see This:

; Secondary default bindings
.Bindings=(Name="Up",Command="GBA_MoveForward")
.Bindings=(Name="Down",Command="GBA_Backward")
.Bindings=(Name="Left",Command="GBA_TurnLeft") <----Change this
.Bindings=(Name="Right",Command="GBA_TurnRight") <-----and this "See Below"
.Bindings=(Name="Enter",Command="GBA_Use")


Change to this:


; Secondary default bindings
.Bindings=(Name="Up",Command="GBA_MoveForward")
.Bindings=(Name="Down",Command="GBA_Backward")
.Bindings=(Name="Left",Command="GBA_StrafeLeft") <-----To this: "GBA_StrafeLeft"
.Bindings=(Name="Right",Command="GBA_StrafeRight") <-----and "GBA_StrafeRight"
.Bindings=(Name="Enter",Command="GBA_Use")


Now just Save changes to the file and close all windows. Restart your game and test it out.

You might need to remap all your binds in the games "Options" menu again,
Just make sure you set "StrafeLeft" to Leftarrow and "StrafeRight" to your right arrow.

I came to forums looking for exactly this, I play on arrow keys, probably a mental legacy thing from back in the day DooM but the turn thing was doing my head in... The key binding problem is pretty embarrassing to be honest...

I play with the arrows and never had the turning problem. Didn't need to edit any .cfg's either. How come this affects some people? =s

I dunno man, I set it in options but it still turned left and right until I used this manual config settings.

Anyway thanks for posting this, it saved me trudging through the config file and let me get on with trying the game.

Also, if you happen to be a fan of the arrows for movement, Might I suggest the MadCatz S.T.R.I.K.E. TE keyboard. Model: MCB43113N. It is the one I use and I LOVE it. It has 12 programmable keys, 5 of which are located around the arrow keys below Delete,End,Page Down for extra binds. Take a look, you'll be impressed!
