yea meh. with a good team it was not much of a challenge after a while when everyone knows what to do and you work together. and the versus mode never interested me.
and i didnt meant i played the game because of its story, i wanted to say that you dont need a story(mode) to make a game good).
the coop of KF was much harder and the fact you could level up your perks and choose different play styles gave it a lot more of long time motivation.
The only thing I would like to see, is a similar system on DLCs like in PayDay2, where you have to grind your new gear, looks etc. Also costumize your weapons.
a proper/good objective mode doesn't have to be about the story either, though they do commonly have some sort of story/lore justification for why you are doin what you are doing.
Official maps and modes are still the only way to reliably from a play community around something though.
Custom maps and modes just don't spread very well most of the time, even when they are amazing.
"If you build it they will come."
I dont know if you read about the difficulty adjustments, but those changes on zeds, depending which difficulty you play, they will keep me happy for a long time.
that might not sound like alot of fun, but thats the point of the franchise, KF1 stood the test of time fore over a decade now, Tripwire is very intune with what its core audience wants, what they exspect, what keeps them coming back. its a game played by thousands daily. you keep compareing it to evovle, evolve cant touch its numbers consistantly.
the thing of it is, you migh not be the target audience for the game. it might not just be built for you. will TW ever add some sort of campaign? i couldnt tell you. what can tell you is they will take care of the people who were here since Unreal 2 had this silyl mod made for it first, and worry about pandering to others later.
i dont mean to maek any offence here, its just one thing i hate, is when games have to do things just because people who were never the core audience say it needs to happen or its just ♥♥♥♥. its why so many mainstream games never make any innovation ever in anything, because you cant innovate if you keep trying to please everyone. take care of your core guys, and innovate that scene, you might wind up with a slightly less or even totally unpopular color of brown, but its still allot better then being Beige #54
Killing Floor did not have a campaign, or anything like you are talking about... It was and is Multiplayer only. The game was amazing and lasted 6 solid years. People still play the hell out of it. If KF2 is just like KF1, but with better graphics, physics, sounds, mechanics, logistics, then there's no reason why KF2 won't last just as long without. Based on all the screenshots and videos, it looks like they did exactly that. Seriously, who cares about a campaign you just play by yourself? Talk about Borrrrrrrrringggggggg!
1000 hours docked in KF1, been playing it since release, every perk Rank 6 at least 10 times over.
As to how someone like you managed to get into early alpha/beta access and I didn't, just blows my mind.
