I don't think they feel fear.
I think their only instinct is to kill.
And I think they probably need to eat. Not exclusively humans tho.
Even if they do feel any pain, it obviously doesn't bother them much as they can get shot in face or have their abdomen sliced open but as long they can still move, they'll continue pursuing their target no matter how severe their injuries are.
They do seem to have some single overriding instinct to kill any living human they see. Whether Hans gave them this instinct or it's just a side effect of their extremely heightened aggression is hard to say though.
Their is a high chance the horizine tech company never intended for ZEDS to be used in any other way.
Maybe at one point ZEDS were going to be used as medical research test subjects for the betterment of mankind to help cure diseases, its also possible that some scientists truly were interested in playing god and making a real living being through unnatural means and make something that could be considered a child to them. But subjects like gorefast, scrake, fleshpound really hint that horizine was mainly making them to be used as weapons.
Why else would they be so intent on killing?
In the animal world killing something that you are not going to eat is considered odd in some cases.
I think when grabbed slasher deals damage the fastest and clots middle speed and cysts slowest speed.
Not quite sure though. Im sure there are reasons TWI wanted more zeds that function as clots other then JUST variety.
That's what I Think anyway.
"The original story behind the Gorefast is that they were the end result of a project similar to that of the Fleshpound, but toned down to an extent, designed to create extremely strong and fast soldiers. While the project was a success, the soldiers became insane, consumed with constant rage and an obsession with pain. " according to the killing floor wiki.
