I don't see how him "talking down to 34.75% of potential customers that voted YES" is somehow authoritative to a fault. Personally, I do think that he was a bit harsh in his message, but it seemed like a message from emotion and therefore something I want to give the benefit of the doubt for.
It certainly isn't the way that a president of a company should act in public, but then we all make mistakes. Besides, his actual point about not wanting to do it is entirely valid, the only thing I think there is any good argument against is that he was too "mean" about it.
I have never had anything but praise for Tripwire's products, and to act as though this single quote is somehow meaningful on the large scale is disingenuous to me.
Also, there were only just over 100 people participating in that poll - a vast minority of the audience, and nowhere near enough of a sample size to judge the popularity of including the characters the poll creator wished to include.
Also, from Yoshiro in that same thread:
"Are there games where one player characters gender clothes tends to be more exposed? Sure. Is Tripwire making that game? No.
Are there games where both player characters genders clothes are equally revealing? Yes. No, Tripwire is not making this type of game either.
Tripwire feels player avatars should feel empowering for our players in the games that we make. This is not a new policy.
Tripwire does not feel that interesting, empowered avatars are mutually exclusive from other content in the game (if we feel it fits in that games world).
As I'm on vacation this is likely my last post on topic. "
This is the main point and their main policy. The way that it was expressed by Ramm may have been a bit overly emotional, but that isn't something to make a big deal over. At the end of the day, this poll was a tiny minority of the customers arguing over whether or not they would want certain types of characters in the game.
In response, multiple Tripwire Employees - including the President of Tripwire - explained their policy, something I honestly feel should be praised. Bothering to involve yourself that deeply with your customer opinions, even the ones that disagree with you, shows a level of commitment to the community that most companies lack, and the fact that this thread has gotten to more than ten pages just seems a bit ridiculous to me. They explained thier position, you can agree or disagree, but it isn't anything new and it shouldn't affect your enjoyment of the game.
I personally think that having attractive characters should be one of their design goals, though a secondary one, since going for some attractive characters alongside some that are more empowering for both genders would help for diversity and to serve a larger player base. Still, it isn't something I care about all that much.
Don't get me wrong, I don't really care about this all this drama, but still, it's not like KF1 didn't had "immersion breaking" characters.
So I really wouldn't be shocked to see a bikini dressed girl on my left when I have a robot, a chicken guy and death himself on my right (that is if the same thing is going to happen to KF2 aswell, of course).
It doesn't matter, in any objective sense how you feel about the characters in the game because the president has spoken. Killing Floor will remain fittingly absurd but not in the way some of you want.
So if you really mean this point, then you are basically folding your own argument too because afterwards whining that people hate you is a direct result of your authoritarian decision.
These things come in pair. If you wish to be a **** then dont whine when people call you one.
Refer to the above.
Sorry, but respect is earned.
I respect your right to your opinion, but i do not have to like it, especially when you wish to enforce it upon others and is literally based on nothing more than your subjective taste, preferences and ego.
You are free and entiled to dislike my opinion/argument too.
Refer to the beginning of the post.
No, its not about being offended that we cant have a bikin girl. Its about how and by what logic the request/idea is rejected, and the attitude working behind it.
It kinda goes beyond offended when upon a request you are basically implied to be some sort of misogynistic pig.
The answer he posted was extremely uncalled for and is the work of someone who by all means cannot be called completely sane.
Glad to hear.
Did.
Im not the person who flew off the bat after a bikini was requested and went on a full ♥♥♥♥♥♥ world tour implying crap like bikins degrade women and that everyone asking for it should be ashamed.
If it offends you or anyone else that i call such a reaction the work of a mentally impaired ♥♥♥♥♥♥, then so be it. By all means: be offended.
Personal attacks are the best you will get from me when you attempt to defend something like this. If that offends you too, then be double offended or do a combo with it.
Refer to the above.

Constantly apologising, am i rite?
Let me level with you in regards of that video. Feminism is being hated on not because of women, not because of feminism, not because of wanting equality (as if, lol) but because of the self victimsation, the double standards, the demagogy, the toxic egoism within that quite literally demands everyone to serve.
The tag: "Feminazi" is a rather well made one, because it describes today's rabid pseudo feminism to the letter: Im a woman, im superior, and i DEMAND you to accept and confirm that.
If you wish to discuss the topic of feminism in any shape or form then viewing both sides and having a healthy amount of realism is not something optional, its mandatory and basic.
If you do not have a healthy sense of realism and/or are biased towards one side of the scale, then forget about it, because all you will do is just create another biased, worthless, idiotic, counterproductive and completely ignorant video.
Watch the video please, I at least tried to read your thing.
I will watch the whole video after that sentence, HOWEVER, if it turns out to keep up the very same mentality as displayed in that single sentence, im going to call you names.
Just saying
The point here is nonsense that scummy women post is affecting realms outside of tumblr. Hilary Clinton who most likely will be the next US president is a proud "feminist".
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/06/20/exclusive-hillary-clinton-took-me-through-hell-rape-victim-says.html
"Real" feminists..think Hilary Clinton is a broken woman who stayed by her cheating husband for political power and money...but that doesn't change the fact her "I am a feminist" nonsense will probably gaurantee her the seat of the most powerful leader in the world.
EDIT, you'll have to remove the hearts with the R word for the link.
It was a lot more realistic than what the first minute has lead on.
As such, i owe you an apology.
Also: I agree.
So if you really mean this point, then you are basically folding your own argument too because afterwards whining that people hate you is a direct result of your authoritarian decision.
These things come in pair. If you wish to be a **** then dont whine when people call you one.[/quote]
No, I'm trying to put an end this argument. The longer it goes, the worse it gets, and I think we can agree it's not going to change anythig at all.
About the quote, yes, it's an argument from authority: they simply think objectification exists and they want to avoid it. The wording could have been better, but they gave reasons for their decision. It's okay if you disagree, but attacking the person doesn't disprove his point. Yet all I see here are ad hominems. They may feel great to type and post, but they don't lend any credibility.
I can say the exact same thing about you.
I don't base my opinions on "my ego", but on observation and trying to keep an open mind. For that reason I'm rarely on the defensive, but you seem fixated on making this personal.
Also, "respect your right to opinion" doesn't translate into "but your opinion can only derive from being a r**ard".
Is that so, Mr. Psychiatrist.
You are removing context. Maybe it could have been worded better, I'll give you that, but he didn't say exactly that. And yet I didn't see a single person debunking the argument about equal choices.
Maybe you should realize the other side of any argument feels they are right too. What if they behave the same way ? You are saying "I'm right so if you don't agree I'll insult you". Do you honestly believe that is okay ? Really ?!
Different kinds of respect: respect as in "I respect the Colonel, he's a great man" is earned, basic respect as in "Don't be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to people you meet" is basic civilized behaviour. I find you are lacking a bit in the latter.
I'm sorry but I'm done talking to you, I'm usually open to dialogue, but the last two quotes should explain why.
I think Tripwire wants to bring in as many people to play KF2 as possible. Even though it's been proven over and over that most SJW types don't even play video games, they just use them as a means to be relevant.
