Anyways it was the same in Payday 2 and other arena shooters and I just didn't associate with them, it's more fun that way and going off of what I believe the two types of people to participate in these modded servers is, it won't effect you much. You just don't play with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who want easy levels but are bad and the old tymesy players of kf1 probably already have friends to play with in the first place.
At the end of the day you won't be able to change the peoples minds that already do this stuff, but what they should do if anything is take them off the servers list so people just buying the game don't get mistakenly put in with these chetlers, nothing more unfortunate then trying to play the game and constantly being put into cheat servers. Keep them in private servers so that they do not effect anyone who doesn't want to be a part of it, payday had a similar problem where one cheater was whatever, but these cheaters sometimes modded other peoples games against there will and gave them unwanted money or items. That is a big no no.
I can see the older users doing it but even then, I guess im just the type of gamer that likes feeling like I've played the game and accomplished something in it without taking the easy way. But like you said either way, it wont change anything haha
That being said they do need to monitor these servers and make sure that no one gets there progression screwed over on accident, if you actively want to search for a leveling server thats your own decision but to accidentally join one in the future and have things you didn't plan for is bogus.
So regardless of how legitit it is to use such servers or not, they were much more of a convenience in the the first game, than this one. I doubt we would get anywhere nears as many "OH MAH GOODNESS A TRAINER MAP!" threads if we had KF1 style level ups.
Particularly when many people will flip their **** if you pull out your welder thanks to Zed teleports.
I'm more annoyed that the matchmaker button is basically useless because when it's not sending you to empty servers when you have "join in progress" check, it sends you to trainer maps when you push "no custom please". And that's more "I wanted a plain old match not this crazy side show" than anything to do with trainer maps.
At least the server browser is quite lovely.
This is a reasonable outlook. I've never been farther than the lobby of a trainer map, but that's because when it sent me to one I recognized the clots raining from the ceiling from youtube in the background of the lobby screen, and knew to leave.
Sure, if you get more than a level out of a map that has an obvious shooting gallery/fish in a barrel setup, it's hard to claim ignorance at that point.
But my concern is more towards "Dude, the official matchmaker sent me here. Why are you punishing me?" if they ever implement some form of penalties for ending up in the lobby of a trainer server.
I'm Asperger's m8, and that's offensive. I don't play on the easiest difficulty.
I do use boost from time-to-time. For me, the levelling gets in the way of the fun on the higher difficulties. I want to get to fun using skills and stuff to burn/shoot Zeds, not try to level up. Besides, I try to master the class BEFORE I boost up. That's like level 15-20 when I get tired and just boost to max and try out the skills.
As for reasoning... Like I said, it gets in the way. Games like Borderlands, it's like "yay I levelled up, now I can be stronger and get better stuff!" When you level to max, it's like "...Well, what do I do now?"
Unlike Borderlands and other RPGs, this game's fun doesn't come in levelling for the most part. Some people enjoy levelling. Other people like me enjoy the gameplay itself, and want to get the levelling done ASAP so that the real fun can come into play on the higher difficulties... Especially if you're a KF veteran that's spent most of your time on level 6.
Haha sorry, but that made me laugh. Boosting is never going to stop so long as the reward is worth the time spent not going about it the normal way.
I'm not one to tell someone what to do with their game, so long as that doesn't effect everyone elses gameplay and doesn't break the rules set forth by the developers EULA.
Ill be sure to add selfadmitted Boosters to our ban list, Thanks for the Head's up!
lol first of all:
A) I never self-admitted anything if you actually know how to read. Not caring if someone elses boosts something so trivial as a rank system is one thing, doing it yourself is something completely different. With how many hours I've put in do you seriously think I'd need to waste my time "boosting"? LOL GTFO here kid.
B) Add me to your servers anyways though so I never have to deal with an idiotic admin like yourself. I already know your type. Thanks for the heads up! :D
I'm at least half serious when I say, I will be proud of you if you do not look for trainer servers yourself, once Sharpshooter gets released.
Because you just know a good chunk of the people bemoaning the existence of "Newbs on trainer servers" will also feel they deserve to have their maximum headshot modifiers ASAP.
I'm mostly just to stubborn to, in KF2's case. I can admit that in KF1 I turned to servers with special doors that let me get those welding credits faster.
