What is the FX and Lens Flare Graphic settings in game ??
I've tried Googling these two, I can't really get an idea what are these graphic settings in game.
Lens Flare I have slight idea, but does it even have any Performance Impact ?
I've no idea what does the FX stands for it can be anything...
Also, how many of you have Real World Reflection ON ??

Lens flare almost has no noticeable performance impact.
To make it clearer, here's an example.[i.imgur.com]

FX stands for effects. It controls the quality of flames, explosives etc.
If you think you're getting fewer FPS after the players spamming fire or explosives, you might have to turn it to low.

Lens Flare is... well, lens flares! Reflections of light in your vision, lens dirt when looking at lights, etc.

FX (Effects) I think refers to all the effects in general. Quality of gore (not flex), fire and explosions.

I played with realtime reflections at first, but it was such a resource hog that I disabled it. I overclocked my GPU a lot since that last time, and everything runs perfectly fine now even with Flex Gibs enabled. I might try enabling it again. It does look very tasty.

Here's another example[www.sliceofthe.net] of a lens flare, only much more pronounced.
On normal Gameplay, it works ok, but like you mentioned, if heavily spammed like Grenades / Demo's RPG or whatever / Molotovs, then definitely Im getting FPS drop, bout down to 40 FPS or maybe less ? What I caught previously was about 40 FPS, it does make the game lag IMO, since it was constantly 60 FPS all the time...
What level of settings FX do you guys use ?

I have it set to High, and Lens Flares enabled. It's interesting that you mention the fps drop, because that might've been the cause for me. All seems fine now though.

Ironically we consider lensflares to be 'desireable' despite the fact that they are part of the physical defects of using lenses.

You actually see them through your eyes as well. Ever tried looking directly at the sun? Or into a bright light? It's not just camera defects. Organic lens flares are a lot more difficult to imitate in a game though, because they're so dynamic and not as blinding. The example I linked to however is in fact a good imitation of camera defect and lens dirt, rather than organic lens flares.

I hate it when developers just lump together a bunch of things into one option...
The only time I get fps drops is when grenades and explosives are being heavily spammed and I want to get rid of it without reducing the gore level. (low FX even disables ragdolls...)
Now I need to go through a bunch of ini files to find the settings I'm searching for instead of just being able to adjust them through an ingame menu.

Damn that's just sad, yeah I really hate it they lump together....I mean a game with this much detailed graphics and not to mention specific !! They should separate it seriously.....
So I guess wasn't only me which experience FPS drop when the greande and molotov spam ( though it has to be like super lot not just a couple ) I thought it was VSYNC's fault.
Im running with VSYNC ( Variable FPS Disabled ) but it's smooth most times even explosion etc as long it's not a huge spam

The reason devs usually don't involve all the parameters that ini files have in settings, is because you'd end up with a very, very long list of adjustable settings. A lot of people would ignore them, or would be overwhelmed by them. Sometimes it's better to dumb it down into a few general settings, which makes it easy for less tech-savvy people to select the settings they need for their system.

Tech savvy people like me don't mind digging in ini files. I sure don't at least. I just wish there was a detailed explanation to every parameter, because not all of them are obvious, or native to Unreal.

Guess I'm in a bad spot somewhere in between. I'm not tech savvy enough to know what I'm doing when it comes to ini tweaking but too finnicky about performance to just ignore my frame rate dipping below 60.

Hmm I for one isn't comfortable tweaking ini files, I literally have no idea what Im seeing in those files. Unless that I seriously require to fix some issues, I will never touch them lol....
I did once to fix the weird FPS drop in Bioshock Infinite, it works, but till a point where there was loading trasaction between locations, it crashes every time.So I had to restore the original ini file and I no longer get any crashes. Feel weird why is it affected. It's only that specific location.

But they do have like Preset settings, I don't see any reasons why they have to dumb it down. As I know many who isn't " tech savvy " they usually play the game on Default settings they couldn't care less adjusting the graphical settings. Also once again there is Preset...
