Unable to run KF2 fullscreen
So, just got a new rig, with a nVidia GTX 950. Only problem is I can't run the game in fullscreen at all (and only this game) -- I end up with a black screen instead, and a "No signal" message from my HDMI. Swapping it to windowed or borderless works though.

Additionally, the game won't run at 1920x1080, which is my native resolution. It keeps forcing it down to lower resolutions, even if I go and change the .ini file or set launch options or -dx10.

Any clues on how to fix this?

Only difference between DVI and HDMI is HDMI carries audio that is literally it.

Specs and OS to help us help you. Make sure nvidia drivers are up to date firstly.

Drivers are fully up to date (new update went out just today).

Specs are:
Intel i5-6600k @ 3.50 GHz
Windows 7 64-bit
8 GB RAM
nVidia GTX 950

Should also note that nVidia GeForce Experience tries to set KF2's resolution 1980x1020 when optimizing (and it's also my native resolution), but launching the game simply bumps it down to 1360x765 with no way to go beyond it. I can also try to modify the .ini file for this but the game overwrites/ignores it.

I havent had this issue personally but on other games it can be because of the display. You mentioned a HDMI so is this on a TV? Have you also tested a variety of games? it may give you a clue to the problem.

Yes, it's on a TV, and it's solely with KF2. Have not had this issue with any other game.

Sounds like an issue with scaling. I have a seperate PC which I use on the TV and some games automatically downscale to a lower resolution interestingly not an issue with Killing floor.

Windows automatically scales up the UI when you plug in a TV display that is quite large so playing with the scaling might help you under windows display settings.

Also make sure under the EXE properties and compatability that "disable display scailing on high DPI settings" is ticked.

All compatibility options other than OS and run as admin are greyed out, so that's impossible to do.

Managed to get a better display out of it if I open the console and manually type in setres 1920x1080. It's not a perfect solution (it's still not running natively), but it's far better than it was previously.

HDMI 2.0 supports 120Hz and 144Hz as well as 4K. There is no difference between HDMI and DVI visually as both are digital outputs. As a TV input however they are limited to 60Hz which is not a limitation of HDMI.

if u have hdmi 2.0 yes alot of ppl dont,i prefear display port over any cable good for 4 k,HDMI has limitations, though, and isn't always the perfect choice. For example, your TV likely has HDMI 1.4 connections, which max out at 3,820x2,160-pixel resolution at 30 frames per second. If you've gotten a new 4K monitor, you're limited to 30fps. Not until HDMI 2.0 will you be able to do 4K over HDMI at 60fps. You'll also need new hardware (and probably a new TV). but with dp u get the most hzs from the tv that it can oupout hdmi maxed is 60hzs

I have the same issue. Custom dpi scaling in windows and all the compatibility options are grayerd out.

Did you find a solution?

Found out it's the TV I'm using for my monitor. It's only rated to 720p, so it can't properly put out the right resolution with some games.
