In offline/solo the calculations seem to occur separately so you are able to get direct head damage with the explosive pulv.
So that would make the attack just a single explosive attack, rather than bludgeon + explosive while online?
I personally think fighting Hans its better with an unloaded clip to cause a knockdown on Hans. I have done this trick before on Hans online.
You can still get knockdowns with "v" and a loaded pulverizer. Might take some practice though
