I think its a fun little thing that no one is forced to do.
By adding in free key drops that would make people be more inclined to want to buy keys to get more stuff after having fun opening their first case. That would make a lot of people mad and blame everyone else and not their own lack of self control.
I'm not ok with stat boosts. Probably 95% (or more) people probably would hate stat boosts. It's lame and puts people at a disadvantage regardless if its rng free or paid for.
MTs are just a thing that will be in games for a long time to come in the majority of games. People want money. I don't mind MTs in KF2 or CS:GO/TF2/Dota2. I've bought several keys and because of how few items there are, its actually really not hard to get a good item. I've made about 30-ish dollar profit so far.
Edit: I know that "better" items have a lesser chance of being obtained. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the chance of you getting a good item from a case in KF2 is way higher than any game I've played. Which is good.
Honestly, copying other games without having the same amount of players is a little short sighted imo...
Is this true? Do both of them drop? I thought that it was just keys that dropped.
they both do drop, infact someone made a post complaining that he got droped a key and he HAD to buy a crate... the key, atm, was selling for more than 5 dollars, and the crate, less than 20 cents.
Well dang, thanks for the info. I guess I shouldn't have sold those keys that I picked up, then. I figured it was just the usual method of wringing money from people by giving people half of an item set, and requiring you to buy the other half to keep you from feeling like you're "wasting" your luck.
This. This is the crux of the issue. The solution? Don't pay for any of it. By not paying for market items or keys, you're telling Twi with your wallet that you don't want this crap system. And that's the most powerful way you can possibly "talk" to a business--with your wallet.
Agreed! I paid for 2 keys and I've decided I won't be paying for any more. It's such a shameless system, which sucks because the core game is so damn fun! It's just a disappointing facet of an otherwise very satisfying game.
