Cheers
His main role is killing trash, you 1-3 tap everything to the head including gorefasts with minimal recoil and large mags making you very effective at this.
He melts scrakes with ease being able to 1 mag them with basically every weapon in his arsenal, his weakness used to be FP's but thanks to the FAL he can now 1 mag these too with a little practice.

The trouble is hes a precision perk meaning you need to land headshots to kill stuff and failing to land headshots means you are wasting your time as in KF2 enemy HP is split into head hp and body hp so hitting the body takes much longer and doesnt contribute to the damage done to the head.
The meta is always whats easiest and most accessible, my 60yo dad can spam as zerk/fb/demo/medic and win games, they're strong because the skill/effort requirement is low.
But if you have much experience with FPS games you can hard carry with commando, you can solo hold most lanes and as long as you have trash when zed time hits and you have lvl 25 team mates they'll be able to hold their lanes too.
really good commandos can lone wolf so they can extend zed time without anyone hampering them, even taking down fleshpounds on their own.
Its a PEBCAK-class issue.
