But I agree on the general message, objectives are meh. Last time I played them probably was a year ago.
And worst of all, is that they have already left since Christmas 2019 :c
Or it'd be interesting to have a scenario that's like Zeds vs EDARS and your team is in the middle of it. In the map both Zeds and EDARS spawn and they're not friendly towards eachother (but will prioritize humans). There's 2 objectives every wave , you can only complete one , and depending which you choose will weaken or strengthen one side . Then depending on the objectives you do in the final waves you fight primarily which ever side is stronger and then a boss representing that side.
I was fine with how Objective was when they first added it, since i saw it as a start and hoped that upcoming maps would be a little mroe varied and/or unique in their objectives. Alas, it was not to be.
To me it appears they try to cater to a too wide of a playerbase and it just ends up feeling watered down and not living up to it's potential. In the attempt to make everyone happy, no one is
I remember that as well, it was very enjoyable as a medic, felt like you had a job to do and ppl counted on you
Damn it only took you three minutes to come up with better objectives than Tripwire
Sad that the objective mode is this bland. It's even worse in Solo, although more likely to be completed in that mode than in a public server.
I am an avid achievement hunter in the Killing Floor games and yet I will never get 100% in KF2 because of DieSector and the stupid objective hell on earth maps, which are simultaneously frustrating and boring in single player and virtually impossible in multiplayer due to high ping and low player count.
Actually I've wished since beta that KF2 would borrow some more elements of ME3's multiplayer as that game mode was a ridiculously good co-op horde shooter. The inter-team class synergy available through combos, effectiveness of weapon mods/ammo types changing up how weapons could be used, variety of available and significant skill builds for each class, variety of enemy types and abilities.. fact it didn't rely on warping to maintain a facade of difficulty.. It just had a lot of things KF2 could have benefited from incorporating. But meh, I guess this was a bit of a tangent.
Thank God a perk like Zerker with its health buffs + damage resistance skills exists, along with Hemoclobber for self-healing and EMP nades to buy me a few seconds. Also, HRG Teslalauncher for ez boss wave. I'd imagine it can be done in similar fashion with Medic, but I never tried it.
Personally, I find the multiplayer element of Killing Floor to be a near-must for me - I have never enjoyed solo play (other than a quick game to get familiar with new maps) so it takes a lot for me to fire up a hell on earth solo game where I know I might get husk suicided at some point and have to restart the whole thing. It's funny because I don't actually play this game with my friends...just random lobbies. But I suppose just knowing there are other people who have your back, or whose back you can have just adds so much to the game for me (not to mention all the great people I've met through these games along the way).
Nobody asked for objective mode besides some silent minority.
You are clearly wrong given the fact that Tripwire surveyed the community and enough people asked for objective mode that they decided to include it.
Also, super weird opinion about objective mode in KF1 - many, many people enjoyed that mode.
