why does the game keep crashing
i have a high end PC n i am well past the recommended specs of the game, it should run like butter especially since i put it on a SSD. For some reason I can only play for a small amount of time before the game freezes up and i have to exit or wait till it crashes. Any fixes outside of "set graphics to low" etc? Ive tried to set it to low n the game still crashes somewhat often.

It's rather uncommon behaviour.
• Is it always the same time, e.g. 7 minutes? Then it could be software related and you should check the kf2 dependencies.
• Are your drivers up to date?
• Did you try the basic delete the kf2 folder in documents fix?
• Check your hardware temp, just because the system is above specs doesn't mean the hardware gets hot, esp. if you play in singleplayer with unlimited fps.
• Do you play single or multiplayer
• Check the log files from kf2 in ...\Documents\my games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Logs
• If this happen in multiplayer only it could be also related to your network, e.g. vpn, isp or even your router.

In general you should always post your systemspecs steam→help→systeminfo,
your system- and game history, e.g. is this a new issue started at last update, or did you change the windows or storage.

Whenever I make that comment, it's because around the time KF2 had left early access, the game was already pushing the absolute hard limits of what can be done on an engine from 2006. Game was released in 2016 and the game has since been loaded up with seven years worth of content bloat. Considering the sheer amount of crap in the game, it's only natural for things to break

Do you play at modded server?
Then it could help to delete the cache folder:
...\Documents\my games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Cache
Check out Bug Reports there are several possible answers in there.

Solution: wait for KF3, cuz that's using a modern engine
I also optimized it using geforce n i think that helped it a lot too

You can try these solutions
1. Run the game on Dx10 (-dx10 on your launch option)
2. Download KF2 tweaker https://rejzor.wordpress.com/killing-floor-2-tweaker/ and apply compatibility patches
