Stoner 63
It is honestly criminal how much recoil this gun has ingame, because a main selling point of the gun itself was how little recoil it produced with its lower power 5.56 round, especially when a SCAR-H in this game can be full-autoed with hollow points and kept on target easily.

It'd also be cool if they could add an attachment feature that would let people switch out what versions of a gun people are using, SCAR-H/SCAR-L, Stoner 63/63a/mk23, etc.

The Stoner in general is a mess tbh. If anything, it's a testament that says "belt fed weapons do not belong in KF2"

Its sad because I love belt-fed weapons.

The problem is that they balanced it for T4, meaning it couldn't be broken. A 75 round base mag(capping at 188 with extended mags and eat lead) with the same per shot damage as the ak or scar would be too strong. Now that T5 is a thing though, I feel they could easily give it the damage boost as long as it came with a price increase as well.

The thing that honestly kills the Stoner from my experience is the reload times. Because belt-feeding is cumbersome, I am convinced that if we absolutely need another LMG in KF2, it will have to be magazine fed like the M249 or RPK

Belt fed weapons could work in KF2, it is just implemented so poorly that it is good/adequate in very few circunstances (like a team with few or no trashers).

A weapon that is so fun to use at trashing get a price that can be afforded when trash is gradually replaced by biggies... bad idea. The should lower that weapon price.

I'd rather they buff its damage and increase the price. It just feels it would fit better at t5 given that an LMG strikes me as an endgame tool rather than an early or mid game pick. Also, who would take a t2 or t3 that weighed 9 blocks?
Tbh the stoner (pun intended) is more useful for slowing down time.

Zed time is pretty much the only usefulness about it other than the extra suppression erm...stumble it provides.

I'd say at this point ♥♥♥♥ IT, give the stoner penetration power to make it the ultimate zed time extender and zed hoarde supressor. Then you'd have the super powered FN FAL for big zeds, HM 501 and 401 med AR's for second rate insurance healing and scrakes, and SCAR for overall versatility.

That and possibly bump it to a T5 and inc damage very slightly to fit the cost spike.

Or just something with a proper magazine size for a belt fed. There is a reason most games use the 100 round or 200 round belts as a default for belt-fed guns.
Even if that belt is literally all the ammo available for the gun as one reload, that would clear up the big issue with the stoner in KF2.
That said, an RPK or ultimax would be pretty cool, but the m249, IIRC can't actually use nonstandard magazines. It'd be restricted to standard 30 round, possibly some 40 round magazines. Trying to use a beta mag or even just a C drum wouldn't work right, iirc. Then again, it'd probably end up balanced like the thompson, where it is a completely inferior choice because tripwire seem to think mag size overpowers other characteristics in KF2.

I... Can actually see a 9 block Tier 2 working as a stopgap towards a lighter higher Tier weapon, because Scrake and Quarter Pounds can spawn earlier than players are adequately prepared for

2nd

Lmgs would be a nice T5 and make sense

Low ARs and basically smgs like the thompson would be lower T2's and below, higher caliber ARs would be T3's-4's, and lmgs would be T4's-T5's since irl lmgs just shred anything thats not armored to the teeth with sheet metal.

Stoner was supposed to mow down weak to mid ZEDs with the introduction of The Descent.
Problem is that the weapon doesn't even function without Hollow Points and tapping with an LMG in a videogame is laughable especially in KF2 where recoil is very forgiving and weapons very accurate even when shot from the hip.

You have to see it like the Thompson; bad damage, bad ammo pool, bad reload, bad weight, bad price, bad ammo cost, B A D. It's fun on lower difficulties though like most things.

I'd be lying if I said I never played with it + SCAR-H but try getting the dosh for it first.

The recoil is that bad for all of you? I must be crazy because that gun feels too useful, even as a level 17 Commando in HoE

please, tell me your secrets. My problem is less the recoil and more the damage, so hearing about using it on HoE without HPR or even full levels sounds impressive(and a little hard to believe tbh).

I've done well with the gun, and I actually prefer it without hollowpoints, but its a very niche gun for the most part unfortunately, despite what its IRL roles were.

If it isn't used exclusively for trash cleaning or killing only one or two scrakes on anything above hard, you're likely gonna struggle on 6-man games.

These days I usually just play survivalist anyway.

This. The Stoner does have a lot of ammo at once, but the horrible long reload time and relatively low damage makes it hard to use. Most Commando players would rather use the SCAR or/and the FN Fal for the high(er) damage and shorter reload time.
