Not sure what, sorry.
I reccomend custom map servers I usually have luck finding a lobby with 4/6-5/6 players on it already. Don't use matchmaking because it sucks ass and doesn't work for crap lol
It is also worth noting that several clans are boycotting the game now, and that the player base took a huge hit, nearly 2/3rds of the players stopped playing. I doubt that would lead to 'no one able to get 6 people together' in a game with at least 1k.
But TWI is constantly rebalancing the game, so it's entirely possible to enjoy KF2 regardless of what they do with optional content. Don't worry about it.
They added a lot of unwanted features to the game that didn't make KF1 great.

Long story short, they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and people have moved on, thankfully.
More importantly, non-cosmetic stuff is (so far) automatically shared between all players when someone who owns it enters the server. I haven't played a lot of versus, but I guess it's the same there. And if I am not mistaken the only available weapon is the zweihander sword, which I think was nerfed somewhat. Even if some players in a server have weapons not available to others, it's not pay-to-win unless those weapons are better than anything you can get without paying real money.
This was different in the last game, DLC (there were three custom weapon packs) wasn't automatically shared, but the weapons weren't restricted in who could use them. As an owner of those packs, I could go to the in-game trader, buy any of them and just drop them for other players to use. Hardly an issue there. And there wasn't any versus mode so it not being shared automatically wasn't a problem either.
People have some valid complaints about the gameplay itself. Certain mechanics, the difficulty level, etcetera. But TWI is still working on that. Other things aren't about the game but just about PR, really. Many players have a negative attitude towards TWI because of the micro-transaction stuff happening. And the transactions (IMHO) aren't that micro.
