So, is the Katana worth it?

Or should just skip it an save up for something else? Just wondering; I don't play as Berserker all that much, but on the times I feel like slashing up some zeds I'd like to know if the Katana is a good choice or if you should just skip it and save up for something else.

To make a longer answer, there are right now two very effective on perk Zerk builds Zwei + Pulv and Katana + Eviscerator. So it is worth it

yes , it's great at trashing the small zeds ... it's swing fast , it's lightweight and it does decent damages for everything apart scrake and fleshpound.

i think they should buff the katana cus it only does like 4 more dmg than the crovel and since martial artist is getting replaced.

It attacks faster tho and keep in mind that it's just a tier 2 weapon

Its attack speed is ridiculous though. You can just demolish all sorts of trash and mid-tier zeds. Really the only thing you have trouble with is the scrake and fp and for that you can get the evis.

Also, why don't you simply try out the weapon and see how you like it. We can't tell you if you prefer the katana+evis setup over zwei+pulv

that small difference is enough to make it take 1 hit less for various zeds plus it has good speed and less weight, so it's pretty good.

The parry on the Kitana is amazing. Faster reaction time to enemy melee.

wrong only the heavy attack has 4 more damage the light attack(the one you should be primarily using) has 19 more damage

Katana:
ROF 144(light) and 56-63(heavy)
Damage: 68(light) 90(heavy)
Light: 164 DPS
Heavy: 84-95 DPS

Crovel:
ROF 128(light) 60-62( heavy)
Damage: 49(light) 86(heavy)
Light: 105 DPS
heavy: 86-89DPS

Zwei:
ROF: 79(light) 51-59(heavy)
Damage: 85(light) 195(heavy)
Light: 112 DPS
Heavy: 166-192DPS

so the katana needs no buffs just use light attacks because the light attacks massacre trash(crouch for crawlers) and rival the damage of the zwei heavy attacks(zwei is still vastly superior for large zeds due to the amount of damage you do per hit while avoiding damage or parrying) while being only 600 pounds and an easy purchase wave 1

also side note you can do a draw cut with the katana by holding attack when drawing it if that ever is usefull to you

Or, just incase you´re level 25 on zerker. Katana as the fallback weapon, any other last tier weapon for the big kills. The low weight of the katana makes that strategy quite reasonable and in terms even practical.

Hated the zerk for ages. Having to charge each hit and aim for the head when you can easily get outnumbered or thrown off your target was a huge turn off. The katana makes it so you can just go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on trash and carry an evis for heavies. Amazing combo.
