Is it possible to create a game with friendly fire?
As a common player, is it possible to create a game with friendly fire in KF2?

I'd really like to see this option in KF2. At least in KF3. The game is too... casual atm when playing Suicidal. Mindless firestorms, explosions and bullet hosing everywhere since it doesn't matter whether you hit your teammates or not. Friendly fire would force players to play more coordinately. Currently I find this game more or less... boring without friendly fire option.

It's a serveroption yes.
When you check the serverbrowser you see a few servers with something like FF10%, FF100% in the name. Other server don't even write it in their name but it's active.
Search for modified but ranked servers.
While ff10% doesn't change to much except for the demo and the use of hemoclobber and healththrower (both weapons are buggy with friendly fire active) ff of 40% and above should be used only with experienced kf2 players.
+ you should write its a ff server everytime someone joines otherwise you don't know if he/she noticed it.

There are some custom servers that must have a mutator that activates friendly fire. Personally, it would be a VERY BAD IDEA to officially add it as an option due to the griefings that abuse teamkilling.

But doing it in a group of friends could be a good challenge for veterans. I don't know which of those servers they will have and I don't know where they can download that mutator that the FF has.

It's no mutator, its basic config setting.
The server is still rated.

You used to be able to change this on webadmin but at some point they removed it.

Also I wouldn't recommend putting it much over 50%.

This is because weapons have MUCH higher damage than players have HP, players have 100HP which is the same as clots so keep that in mind.

Also with FF enabled there are other things to consider, for example SWAT flashbangs inflict the same distortion as in VS mode, and medics with acid rounds of they hit you will bile your screen, firebug will leave the DoT on you, idk if the demo nuke explosion does anything different but I imagine it just kills the player lmao, I'm also pretty sure the hemo no longer heals others as the damage > the healing. So be wary that some weapons may have additional effects.

Oh now it makes sense why I haven't found a mutator to activate that. Well at least it is an option in which the Admin can modify it in his Server and meanwhile in Vanilla it is deactivated, which is better to avoid teamkillers.

Actually team killing can be fun as long as everyone doesn't have an issue with playing last man standing. Last man gets to kill the remaining zeds or fail.

you can do the ultimate strat of "accidently" shooting someone while firing into a crowd, no one can tell you're doing it on purpose. and if admins try to do anything about it they'll eventually end up banning people for literal accidents and the server dies. so funny

That is where you are wrong.
I played on HOE friendly fire servers before and you get 1 chance of accidents.
Every incident after that gets you kicked and it is very easy to tell if you are doing it on purpose.
That is why demo and firebug is discouraged on these servers. To avoid real accidents.

I also play pretty often on friendly fire servers and its very easy to play Fb or demo there. Just care for friendly fire, you won't hurt others more as if you play with other classes. Simple example: Don't shoot at an fp when a player is very close. Wait 0.5 seconds and shoot then.

But i think its good friendly fire is no standard. It happens often enough that even medics kill their teammates because they ignore friendly fire and e.g. shoot with incision in a group of players or use healththrower/acid rounds. The standard kf2 player doesnt seem to understand ff^^ , what's weired if you ask me, it's working on majority of other coop shooter.

I wouldn't say FF would be a good addition now since people are so conditioned to not having it.

But FF in other games really makes you think more before you shoot because typically you don't want to team kill (and because HP is a limited resource).

The trouble is you can still TK in this game without FF, early raging scrakes, re-raging FPs, boom weekly/endless modifier are the first ones that come to mind.

But people rarely think about that stuff, they just think "I'm shooting stuff I'm helping" blissfully unaware...

KF2 was my most favorite FPS co-op PvE game like two years, but it's not that anymore. That's partly because of me, I'm not just good enough to make a jump from Suicidal to HoE. But on the other hand Suicidal is currently boring since there's too many players who just want to have casual shooter fun and gain most kills. Too many players there are not interested in cooperative team play. And that's partly because TWI has enabled a gun or two for every perk to handle big zeds at least moderately well. I'd prefer more role-focused perks, kudos for KF1 on that.
