Obviously it would be so much easier if only webadmin tools weren't disabled in the first place but... :/
Yea, I saw that thread also. Lots of TWI interaction until this question was asked - and then SILENCE.
Wonder why they won't admit to this glaring deficiency? Ever since this change to the webadmin tool I've mysteriously had a wave of griefers or people refusing to follow the server rules on my server that just so happen to have non-typeable characters in their names. Odd, right?
find the steamID 64 of a user here:
https://steamid.io/
note sure it works though. But in webadmin, bans could be registered like this when they were still available.
(copy paste the profile link in here then you got the steamID 64).
Still waiting on an official TWI comment on this. Or, does TWI not even know how their own game works?
You mean like what was done here:
https://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/index.php?threads/no-admin-kicking-answer.2336939/
And here:
https://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/index.php?threads/kicking-and-banning-concerns.2336823/
And discussed here:

Those are "official" forum posts with *zero* answers from someone at TWI to this question. So tell me, if the answer isn't given on the "official" forums (one admin even mentioned going to discord? Really?) then where can I find / get the answer? This is a real issue that admins are facing and not getting any "official" help from TWI.
And I know for a fact that's it's not only me, there were many reports from people who were, just like OP, advised to report something on TWI forums, they responded with "registered, couldn't post anything".
It's as if they are tired of our complaints and don't want to hear it.
You can join your server as a spectator, then login as admin in console/terminal with
Then you should be able to use the kick/ban commands in the tilda console.
But, if you want a way to remotely ban or kick someone you can just block their IP address to the actual Server/PC/Computer. If you're on linux, you can use IPtables, or on windows, you can go into firewall settings and just block the player's IP address with a custom firewall rule. Peerblock might also be a simple solution as it does allow easy manual adding of IPs.
Once the IP is blocked the player will just timeout/disconnect, Except they won't get a "You've been removed..." message instead it'll just be a "You lost connection..." Message and you server might not show up in browser any more(for them) or they see it and can't connect.
Which I don't.
Yes, I know how to kick from the console. My question was how to do that when a player has non-standard, un-printable characters in their name (to which I have not gotten an official answer yet; I suspect the answer is that you can't and they don't want to admit it because TWI never makes mistakes). I've had players who had NO characters in their name on my server. I guess they're just in god mode while they grief yah?
Refer to my second reply about the classic scoreboard, you can tab and right click to cick if you're logged in as admin on the server. conversely i think you can also use their SteamID or IP which is displayed in the players tab in WebAdmin.
