Anyone else think Matriarch is overpowered?

Almost every time I face her I die, I feel like the boss is unbalanced either its the bullsht edars or the plasma attack fukc me up every time.

You need to discover her weakness. She's not unbeatable. Try different weapons and strategies. Edars are there as distractions. Learn how to avoid and take down the Edars quickly.

I mean I kept kiting her around and I eventually ran out of ammo, when her helmet came off the headshots didn't do enough damage so I obviously died. Its not fair if you play solo and your perk literally can't handle the fight.

You most likely didn't have the right loadout for your perk, between 2 weapons you should be able to take out matriarch and her edars on solo HOE without needing ammo pickups. Matriarch is easy to defeat as long as there is at least 1 object on the map that can break her line-of-sight.

Your First objective should be to Destroy the canon in his left arm, then go for the Head

You always have to keep these things in mind:

1. Use powerful tier 4 or 5 weapons. They can be any weapon on solo, but they should do better damage.
   
2. Concentrate on hitting his cannon first and then his helmet.
   
3. Don't damage the shield. It is a waste of bullets and you will cause more Edars to come.
   
4. When his armor is destroyed, his shield will go out and you have to watch out for the arrival of the Edars. Eliminate them first before going to the Matriarch.
   
5. Without its cannon, it would be FP style. Avoid the tentacle and keep your distance.
   
6. Use obstacles to dodge the cannon. You can even attack the plasma cannon from the left side up close.
   
7. Firebug lv 25 is resistant to plasma cannon. Use this advantage.

Little by little you will know better the mechanics of the Matriarch and you will see that they are not difficult. It is a little tense, but the real terror would be Hans for his aggressive attacks.

If you bring her hp low enough, it will automatically destroy her armor, shield, and arm cannon.
Doing this is without destroying any of the three is difficult, so I usually destroy her arm cannon and continue shooting her arm to lower her hp.

What perk / difficulty ?

Sometimes the best thing to do with the Matriarch is to just slow down. Her initial movement and attack patterns are completely locked in, if you are playing solo you are basically steering her and you can look to trigger her attacks at times that are more favourable to you.

OP like crazy and just unfun to play against; worst still on open maps with little cover.

Personally I think the shield should be removed. Bullet sponges aren't fun to fight.

nothing should be removed, the matriarch is one of the most fun bosses i've fought so far.

She needs a nerf, I've just posted a post about this around 2 weeks ago.
There are people who just want to annoy others by saying she's the easiest boss or she's fine.. I don't think they care for the game or play at higher difficulties

She's not, she's actually a fun boss to fight.

You just need to watch just at least one video or read at least one guide on her, as it's evident that you can't figure her out by yourself.

With all the advice I got, I think the fight just drags on for too long. The Matriarch is a literally just a combination of all the other bosses in the game with the bullet sponge Abomination, Patriarch's grab and invisibility, and Han's health steal mechanic it really doesn't feel right at all.

You can bypass her helmet and shield easily.
I dont waste my ammo on her helmet or the shield because that is not ammo efficient.
