dual spit fire on firebug
I've seen people using this in long hoe solo with mwg
but wouldnt using chalk n burn be better then dual spit fires?
we get more ammo thus more ground fires, spitfire ammo burns like nothing

different play style, some people still like pistols and bullets more, so they will go with dual flares, C&B are safe point blank with heatwave and benefit alot from ground fire.

Flamethrowers are boring, Spitfires are not. Nuff said.

Yes.

like said above, playstyle. You can play FB in a variety of ways, it's just that one is more popular than the others.

admittedly I put off levelling firebug due to feeling like it's boring.

I don't know what happened, but at some point it just clicked and I got this maniacal satisfaction from seeing the poor bastards panic and slowly die after just one small burst.
Oh and it's even more enjoyable when played as Mr. Foster, especially with magma outfit.

SIZZLE YOU WANKA

Foster with Magma outfit is the only true way to play Firebug :P
''I'm gonna burn you back to the stone age!''
''I'll burn all you bastards to death!''
''Deep fried creeps!''
''Zed nuts roasting on an open fire!''

people
myself included
use them because of pyromaniac
you said HoE so i'd say im on the ballpark.
With flares you can hit zeds and the residue stays on the ground much longer than flamethrower afterburn. The unlimited ammo perl during zed time can cover the area for much longer, and farther than CnB. People also probably used the MWG for helping kite big zeds, especially fleshpounds.
The CnB is good if you wamma be a gust of wind that pishes back zeds only instead also shoots fire.

i can agree to that, Firebug/FTs could use some depth gameplay wise since you don't need aiming with them.

Spitfires give you more range which is useful against Husks and Sirens. Fire weapons of any sort are not the preferred method of attacking Scrakes and FPs but if you have to... The ballistic damage of the Spitfire is useful against Scrakes.

Considering it would take 30 headshots, nah. I'd only recommend doing it in Zed Time.

sadly husk don't have any real fire resistance anymore, while you on the other hand have it, sirens also don't have a lot of range or dmg either, i don't think that is really a good reason to use them.

i can see people using them for preference, but there is not much gameplay reasons outside of zed time IMHO, would love to see some more headshot dmg on them.

wait seriously?
that sucks
i remember in KF1 they were hard to kill with a flamethrower, sad to hear that
in a sense it's probably for the best since firebugs have less resistance to fire overall as well

Back in KF1 flares were deadly due to high base dmg of 120 as OFF-PERK weapon. it could kill SC in 1 load at HoE, as firebug it can almost kill fb on 6p HoE but since you rage it with the flares and land the rest of hits, ur team easily finish it within only using 1 mag of flares.

KF2 flares got 40 damage. and with the 35% damage from perk + 25% from the passive lvl 25, it still has 64 damage no where near KF1 version of flareguns.

well they have some resistance, but around the time groundfire was introduced, it doesn't amount to much and they are easy to kill with FTs. it seems perks are losing their weknesses bit by bit.
