The new weapons are a bad omen.
About 20 minutes ago I bought the blunderbuss and glock18c bundle, and about 2 minutes ago I submitted a refund request. These new weapons are the poorest quality I've ever seen tripwire put out. The models are low effort, the animations are jittery and do not flow together at all, they bring nothing new or interesting to the game. This, as well as some poor mapping decisions, makes me believe there is no reason to spend any more money directly to tripwire on this game. If they are going to continue to put out rushed, unfinished, un-optimized, and uninspired content on a regular basis, then I'll stick with what I've got and keep on keeping on.

I could deal with 10 dollar weapons, hell I understand it. But when they're this low effort, it's just ridiculous. Tripwire really ♥♥♥♥ the bed here.

For future reference you can always add them via console commands if you wanna try them out beforehand.

Though you're right the animations are rubbish.

very true.
I also understand the decision they made with dlc weapons.
(And it's hard work to release additional maps while its just a few hours to release a finished community map.)
But the quality should be at least like it is at free weapons.

They said the money from the dlc's is going to quality-updates for kf2. So far it doesn't look like this.
Maybe i will buy the jaeger mkIII skin pack, but i won't buy another low quality weapon dlc.

The reason why dlc weapons are bad animation and others, is because Saber Interaction are the ones that are creating these DLC weapons content and that is why it does not give an effort to improve better or give something cooler. And Tripwire doesn't even say anything to him and puts it as if it's done.

Say goodbye that Saber was going to manage to give new content this year and in the end it turned out that he did not surprise us with anything.

You just have to wait if a modder publishes in the workshop or elsewhere with a mod that improves the animations of DLC weapons. Otherwise, well it's a shame.

Still, I do enjoy some DLC weapons and don't really regret it. With 75% of I do not regret anything.

Only dlc weapon I bought was the ion thruster. Although I don't think it was worth $10, I feel like it's the only one worth paying for.

They were a bad omen the moment they first appeared, even more so after Mosin was added (i.e. ported straight from RO2). TWI stated that they will have to either add more monetization or cut down the quality of updates, since that point they did both.

Even if they were better animated and such, 10 dollars is still ridicolously much to ask for a single weapon. None of them have been worth that much.

The most brilliant and dynamic skins you have ever seen in a video game ;-)

It means as long as people buy things they wont cut on seasonal content.

it never meant faster updates.

Faster updates were, as far as i remeber, never a point. I would prefer 1 big, quality update each year over 4 low content-low quality updates each season.

Your first sentence is right: Money from players -> seasonal content.

But they cut out important content. All we have since the first weapon dlc are:
• reused hrg weapons
• dlc weapons
• boss with reused anmiations attacks, and mechanics
• community maps

Cutted Content:
• New zeds
• New maps
• QoL improvements

I would say the seaonsal content is cutted, isn't it?
And i know many players who bought at least one, many more as one dlc and/or skins/characters.....

Yeah the content is cut, seasonal updates used to contain 3 or 4 new weapons, all new and free. Now it's 1 or 2 dlc weapons, and then rehashed hrg. Maps used to be in house, now ripped, and sometimes made worse, from the workshop. No other new content has come since the dlc weapons. So if they're funding anything, it's themselves and the very lazy hrgs. For the player, whether or not they buy the dlcs, the content they receive is not the same and updates are sufficiently worse. Also the animations and general balance of the new weapons have been questionable, meaning the quality of cut content is lower.

KF2 has just taken a big hit since dlc weapons.

Since (and including) the Matriarch update, the understanding is that it's been Saber Interactive operating KF2's upkeep and updates.

So the innate 'feel' that Tripwire brought to zeds, bosses, and weapons for the last few years must now be reconciled and mimicked by another team, obviously with *some* TWI guidance (Saber is a contractor, after all), but it's no longer in the original TWI designers' hands.

It's unclear whether it's still Tripwire staff that exclusively supervises forum/social media for KF2 (and they filter/curate feedback to shuffle along to Saber staffers), or if Saber has also been assigned that (community management) element of the game's upkeep.
