How is the Single Player experience?
Just as the title asks; How are the Single Player sessions? I would prefer to do some single player stuff first, so I don't come across like a total d*ck because I don't know what I'm doing, thereby enraging all the other participants in which the discussion degenerates and completely and utterly breaks down, forcing several 12 year old Americans to kindly inform me of my mother's seemingly rather promiscuous acts, with them having this knowledge because the other person, or persons, involved in said physical activity were themselves. All this despite the fact that they'd have to do some serious swimming to have been present at these encounters

So, yeah, how does it hold up? Is it a good comparison for the MP aspect of the title?

Single player is no much different from Multiplayer. For Multiplayer, the Zeds have increased damage and healthpoints for every additional player. Beside this and the fact that Solo play gets boring real quick, there is not a very huge difference. Also if you are playing Solo, your Self healing (Q) heals 50hp instead of 20hp.

Dont worry about other players. Just enjoy the game! It is your copy you can do anything you want, but I would advise you to stick to Hard difficulty first to get a feel of how certain Zeds behave. In Suicidal and Hell on Earth, some Zeds acquire new skills.

The game challenge scales based on player count, so you'll find most of the difficulty settings are manageable solo on every difficulty. But it is a lonely experience, because this game is pretty much designed to be played with others, obviously you won't have much utility being a Medic when there isn't anybody on a team to heal except you, and since syringes heal at double efficiency in solo play, that job is even more redundant.

That being said, solo is still a pretty good way to learn maps, and serve as a testing ground for your perks. Of course, you can also do the same thing better by downloading a custom map designed for such a thing.

Cool cool cool, thank you very much for replying, I really appreciate it. I'm getting all the knowledge about the game that I can do before actually starting it up as there was an...."incident"....last year that left me with a useless left hand. My hand is now close to being usable, so that means I'm close to playing some games other than Crusaders of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Lost Chuffin' Idols and Adventure F*cking Capita-bastard-list. ***Ahem*** Sorry about that but it's been REALLY tedious with being only able to play stuff like those titles.....I can't tell you, literally can't, I don't have the words, how amazing it is and how excited I am to be finally able to play some real games again

Again, thank you VERY much for the replies and, especially for even answering a stupid question such as this, not to mention being cool about it. There are so many toxic communities it's sometimes hit and miss if you get flamed for asking any question at all. I'm glad this one isn't one of those

Solo play is completely different from multiplayer. It generally involves kiting whereas in mp, you have to option to camp. Just keep that in mind.
CryonicSuspension Jun 28, 2017 @ 8:13pm
Well... the randomness in the game is primarily generated by other players doing random things.

Making mistakes in multiplayer is part of the fun and learning curve.

I guess you could play solo for a few hours but I wouldn't get married to it.

The creatures essentially bee-line to the players, so it's kind of like playing Gauntlet solo versus multiplayer. The AI doesn't seem very sophisticated.

I think that you would learn more playing with other people.

I think that solo play on the hardest difficulty levels like Hell on Earth is done as a "test of strength" kind of thing. I've been trying to play Survivalist on HoE, in The Catacombs because it's one of the most difficult maps for me.

Um... with your hand just start on the easiest difficulty level and work your way up.

Single player is lonely, boring, and way too easy, even on Suicidal/HoE.

No offence, this is honest advice - but if you go into games and start insulting people because of their nationality and calling everyone 12 year olds, just like you did in this post right now, I can sort of see why people may not take too favorably to your presence. Just sayin. You come off as rather a lot like an insufferable entitled colossal ****** for no apparent reason. I'm saying that in a very friendly constructive way intended to help you. Honest. :)

On HoE solo, it's nearly impossible for some perks to beat Hans due to his speed and melee attacks. Patriarch's alright, but Hans...

To be honest, it's not "like", I kinda AM, but it was a broad-sweeping, comedic generalisation as that's what most people think of when somebody mentions, for example, Call of Duty Multiplayer. And, to be fair, it actually has happened to me, just the way I described it. I do, however, thank you for your restraint when posting, which goes on despite your quite obvious, (and probably not entirely unjustified), disliking of either myself or what I posted myself.

As a participant of this discussion I'd like you to know that you daring to ask about the singleplayer experience in a multiplayer team game has greatly enraged me.
Since I am also a 12 year old Amercian I have to kindly inform you of your mother's seemingly rather promiscuous acts, with me having this knowledge because I and other persons were involved in said physical activity.
All this happened despite the fact that we all had to do some serious swimming to have been present at these numerous promiscuous encounters.
But the internet told us that your mother is worth the effort and oh boy, sure she was :emofdr:

Sorry, but I just could not resist :XDCube: :ily:

BTT: I actually say go for singleplayer as I did that too and learned many helpful things including but not limited to map layout, enemy movement and attack patterns, weapon and perk handling and most important Boss movement and attack patterns.
It also helps trying out the perks without other players disturbing you and to get the first few levels on your favorite perk.
But I have to add that I'm a singleplayer person and therefore did enjoy playing alone just as much as I enjoy the hustle and bustle of a multiplayer game.
