How to use extra mouse buttons for keybinds?
Trying to add the buttons within game doesn't even register they're pressed. If I recall correctly from KF1, I used something like MOUSE4 in the .ini file, but that's not working here. Neither is mouse5 etc.

Bindings=(Name="<MOUSE BUTTON>",Command="GBA_LastWeapon",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)

What are the extra mouse buttons of a gaming mouse called? What should I replace <MOUSE BUTTON> with?

Just go into the options themselves and bind them there? I did that and it works perfectly fine. All five mouse-buttons are used (tho Mouse 3 is mostly just there because Aiming Toggle needs to be used for some attacks in Versus, if I ever play it in the future)

Nothing happens when I try to change it, it keeps waiting for a key press. It seems to not even know I pressed the button

Got an up-to-date mousedriver? Most mice work out of the box with their additional buttons most of the time, but a few sometimes need a driver to garantuee working (assuming the software in question supports it themselves).

I know that my Logitech Mouse does require a driver, for example.

That's the weird thing, if I use my mouse software to bind a letter to it, that does type it in game when I press it. It's just when editing the key binds in game that nothing happens. So I guess I could indirectly bind them, but that seems like unnecessary work. And requires me to switch mouse profiles all the time. My mouse button bindings are saved to the mouse (they even work on other computers) so I'd assume there are no drivers required. A search for driver updates comes up clean as well.

Hmm that's strange. Cause I use my mouse 4, and I binded it directly in the in-game menu.

Quick question on the related topic.

How do i properly bind something on numpad? Num1 num2 num3 etc seems not to be the name of the button.
If i want to bind them from console, not in ini file

I bound my Mouse4 and Mouse5 right in the keybinding menu. Sounds like an issue with your mouse.

Yea, if (with my mouse software) mouse4 is mapped to something on the keyboard, I can keybind something within game using mouse4, but it binds it to that key. No mouse4 map, or whatever you want to call it, and it just doesn't recognize it. The same mouse worked with KF1 though :(.

I have no experience with using the console, but the ini calls them NumPadZero, NumPadOne etc.

Not the console dude. Just go to Options > Controls > Key Bindings and press the mouse button on the key you want. Don't make it so complicated.

I would, except THAT DOESN'T WORK. I can press my mouse button until I'm old and grey and the game'll still be waiting for me to input a key. The only extra mouse button that works is mouse7, and that is strangely registered as a normal left click.

And i want to spawn scrakes and fleshpounds to simulate late waves on official maps and controlled difficulty so going in options menu are not good for me too.
Sorry op for using your thread and thank you Kalphite for those button names

No idea why the game doesn't recognize your keys but you can use this program to solve the issue
https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/xmousebuttoncontrol.htm

I use it for games that don't recognize extra mouse buttons. You just bind the mouse buttons to certain keys that you don't use in games and bind these keys to functions. It's also application-specific so you don't need to worry about unbinding and rebinding every time

Have u set ur ini file to read only? If so the game won't be able to access it and update binding information.

ThumbMouseButton doesn't work either, but thanks for the suggestion.

I have no problem adding bindings, it's just my mouse giving me trouble. I guess I'm just gonna have to bind the mouse buttons to certains keys and use those instead.
