I admittedly don't play much gs, but from what I've heard t5 deagles are one of the best weapons in the game.

Both works on HOE and higher difficulty.
It is mostly preference.
I use the +0 magnums. The $1500 dosh upgrade is usually not worth the cost for most gun unless you have extra dosh.

Both gun have similar total ammo capacity.
Desert Eagle damage: 91
W/upgrade: 127.4

Magnum damage: 160
W/upgrade: 184

Centerfire damage: 165
W/upgrade: 239.25

If you are taking down big zeds, the magnums will save you more bullets due to its higher damage.
If you want ease of use desert eagle has low recoil.
If you join in the middle of the wave or need a good big zed killer gun early centerfire might be something to also look into.
It has the same clip size as the dual magnums but cost $650.
The only downside is the longer reload and lower total ammo.

For regular players it is preferred because of its low recoil.
For CD players, desert eagle is preferred because they have commandos that can reset zed time properly. As I recall in this scenario desert eagles can potentially take down 3 fps before zed time finishes while magnums can only take down 2 fps.
However 99% of players will never experience this.

If you haven't used gunslinger much it's worth comparing the guns once you get the speedloader perk - the deagles have a quick reload cancel point if you want to blaze away, but only when the clip is empty (otherwise you get the slow reload anim).
IIRC the magnums always play the fast reload with speedloader but take a little longer.

Deagles have the edge because of the fast empty reload. Makes them more of a "kill everything" type weapon. Magnums, due to their slower reload and smaller mag size, are more strictly ment to be used vs larges.
But T5 Deagles kill larges ridiculously fast, too.
IF you really want to use a T5 something, yes, use the Deagles.

You can kill 3 FPs with extended Zed time easily with Magnums if they happen to be in range. 15-20 seconds time is plenty for that. You need ~2 seconds to reload and ~2 seconds to kill.

Nothing's wrong with using both if you like them. T4 deagles + T4 Magnums + any single pistol for trash.

that's if you have a good Commando on the team extending that said Zed Time

Which was the topic?

I'd go for the Deagles because of the empty reload alone.

Why not both?

He said "fully upgraded". Cant have both at T5.

IMO, a +1 Centerfire is the way to go

Its good but doesnt leave enough room for dual T4s + T3 Deagles, so T2 it stays. Or how do you fill up the rest of the weight?

SPX really shines on long sight lines + Zed time extensions. Its a beast in that scenario. Other then that I prefer an all pistol/revolver loadout.
if anything, they just need to simply add the single Desert Eagle to the Sharpshooter's arsenal. and this is because the same perk also used this gun in the first "Killing Floor".

so why they didn't add the Desert Eagle to the Sharpshooter's loadout as a trash-killing weapon, I have no clue
