What is the different between offline and online?

I assume you'd only be able to play solo, I think all your perk stats go back down to 0, and any xp you get is only for that match or session. I have played offline once, a long while ago, I don't really remember, I think that's how it was.

While playing offline all your achievements/dailies and weeklies count as well as online.
The only difference is nobody will joing your game so you're on your own for the whole match.
Yes you can play the game offline without the internet connection as long as your steam can launch :p

edit: yeah idk if your perks stay the same, no idea if they are saved only in cloud

Sorry I can''t contribute to your question directly.
However: If you think of only playing offline, you miss out a LOT of fun. I'd say the whole fun comes from playing this game coop. Singleplayer - I would not buy the game for SP. The Perks complement each other and whole gameplay is tailored to coopplay.

Pros

- You are the one to choose every decision that decides the team's fate
- Dictate the team's favourite target and which Zeds to focus in the map
- Decide whether the team will roam around the map or hold-out

Cons

- You're only by yourself you loner

You can play offline without an internet connection but I don't think any gained XP will register. You'd need a connection just so at the end of the game it could update your stats.
