It's about as economic as buying ammo for your T1 only you get a slightly better weapon for the next wave.
not so much for guns themselves, especially considering how teammates love selling your weapons (at least the bad/troll ones).
Not to mention T1 weapons spawn frequently so if you sell them, at least 3, at full price you could possibly pocket about $500 depending on the weapons. On maps like diesector or in endless, this would be very gamebreaking. That or teammates can lose their entire ammo, drop all their weapons and dosh, suicide, then respawn with the same weapons and more dosh while you can still sell the weapons they dropped.
tl;dr it'd be very game breaking and possibly exploited like the gun upgrade glitch that i think was the reason TWI actually lowered the resell value on upgraded weapons (basically people would buy upgraded guns, drop 1, sell 1 upgraded, buy another, pick up the also upgraded second pistol, and repeat the process for alot of extra dosh. I played in a match where 2 guys got about 10k before match 3).
Also everyone would play Demo first round, purely for the extra cash from selling the grenade pistol.
The point is that you choose between easy early waves for a little bit of dosh, or struggle through the early waves for free by greeding to the weapon you want to have.
By taking this out you effectively remove the choice to either take the easy road to a later t4 weapon or the hard road to an earlier t4 weapon.
It would remove a layer of the game to take that away.
plus i'd like to think that the trader is a greedy trader too like the KF1 trader and will buy for less but sell for more lol.
That's just how trading works. You don't make a profit off of equal trader, you make it by selling just slightly above the normal prices.
But in fact that's more nope than ideally should be.
Like weapon stealing, that makes more excuse for self-ish troll/griefers aggressively seeking your precious $hiet and sell it out as soon as possible.
(which makes team work even more broken than it is as now)
