The EDAR Trapper Should Be Removed
Just your daily reminder that the Trapper is the worst "zed" in the game and should be removed.
Edit: People keep bringing up "they made the core bigger" or "they nerfed it a whole bunch" as resons to say it's balanced but:
  1. The core being slightly bigger hasn't made that much of a difference, If you played the beta you'd know that.
  2. They actually didn't nerf his health, they increased it. They only nerfed the range of his laser because it was going through walls and they've said that was probably temporary until they could get that bug fixed.
  3. The Trappers health, core, armor, etc. was never the issue to begin with. The problem was with his base mechanic of screwing over the player. No amount of messing with his health can change his attack.
Also stop bringing up l4d, it's a completely different game. When a smoker or jockey gets a hold of you you can survive way longer to hold out for your team mates and even if you do die you can be rivived. A trapper can get you killed in two seconds flat ending the game for solo and having to wait to respawn next round on multiplayer.

Edit 2: since yall keep bringing up unrelated things and ignoring the real issue, I'm taking Miiukade's advice and not wasting anymore time here.

By your logic we should remove all Zeds from the game because they all have an annoying aspect. And the EDARs do fit in, they are reprogrammed versions of the DAR.

By your logic, we should add santa clause enemies, chicken enemies and the reaper enemies.

Previously devs said EDARs were made by third party company, they can be related to horzine from far away, as mentioned in the quote above, or not at all. Later on devs tied up EDARS with the new boss that will be coming in 2019 Matriarch.
I think EDARS are great enemies but the ******** *** * * **** * ******** ** * trapper is absolute cancer. But I'm the kind of player who hates removing stuff or nerfs. I prefer to buff everything to balance stuff and change things instead of removing.

So for trapper it'll be cool to have a robot that could disable the gun you have in your hands with his electricity (yeah non sense for a lot of guns but it's a game ok) instead of BLOCKING YOUR MOVES. Or maybe at least make it slows a bit the player instead of completely blocking him.

Losing a powerful weapon for a limited time is penalizing and forces you to use all your arsenal from big guns to pistols. Losing your mobility ---> ♥♥♥♥ death with no glory ---> EXTREME frustration ---> high probability of ragequit and spam complain post in steam forums.

Zeds grabing you in close range is fair but enemies blocking you from the other side of the map or even THROUGH WALLS isn't fun at all. It's just beyond annoying.

Their range has been reduced drastically and the zapping through a wall is no longer a thing.Zeds can even block his laser.
Do you even play the game?

it doesnt matter if youre trying a detailed approach when it doesnt change a single thing in practise because it all boils down to "player skin with little to no lore behind it became an enemy addition completely gamebreaking in the core nature and aesthetics of the game."

then by sugarcoating that stupid reality with a short lore update which change from one thing to the other already "(shoving the filth under the rug instead of cleaning up their mess)" is going be surprising if its going to sell to more fanboys than you.

what a method indeed, just proves how stupid the average gamer is today, so easily amused.

Id prefer it if the trapper got an increase to both the distance of the trap and the duration. The traps rarely result in peoples death even on public matches so as far as ive seen.

This would make most people very mad for sure. Making higher difficultys harder is something i would like but not by trapping you everytime from everywhere. If tripwire want to make hoe harder they should be very carefully by not confronting players with to much annoying stuff like hmmm what could it be... ah! MORE TRAPPERS XD GIVE THEM 100m RANGE AND THE LASER WILL DOING MORE DAMAGE THEN THE ONE FROM THE KING FLESHPUND :DDD. Many people will uninstall the game bcause of those things.

Making a game harder and make it annoying are 2 different things.

Yeah that range was too far, but this range is way too short and the trap length is not long enough either.

The length i agree could ise a slight buff, since atm they're a joke.

EDARs are the ranged enemy we needed because people got too comfortable waiting for the zeds to reach them, and husks were laughably easy to kill by spamming any type of shots anywhere on its' body. EDARs require more of a brain to deal with since you gotta aim for the weak core spots, which require a high precision and accurate perk, or if you wanna spam, spam fire or the MWG and they die quicker too.

I sorta feel like to compensate the trapper, either incm the range a little, or give it the stalker/cralwer treatment where you spawn like 5 or 6 to all swarm you. Chances are at least 1 is more likely to reach you before you kill them all. Another i guess easier solution would be to inc. the speed a little so they can get to you faster.

Husks exist... Bosses has projectile ranged attacks as well. This is nothing new. Stop treating it like it's a gifted invention bigger than sliced bread.

lul what. Husks actually take more skills and patience because you need to wait them charging the fireball and then aim for their back tank. EDARs you just spam left click at the zone below their chest and nothing more. If you're body shooting Husks, you don't know how to efficiently kill them without wasting ammo.
