The EDAR Trapper Should Be Removed
Just your daily reminder that the Trapper is the worst "zed" in the game and should be removed.
Edit: People keep bringing up "they made the core bigger" or "they nerfed it a whole bunch" as resons to say it's balanced but:
  1. The core being slightly bigger hasn't made that much of a difference, If you played the beta you'd know that.
  2. They actually didn't nerf his health, they increased it. They only nerfed the range of his laser because it was going through walls and they've said that was probably temporary until they could get that bug fixed.
  3. The Trappers health, core, armor, etc. was never the issue to begin with. The problem was with his base mechanic of screwing over the player. No amount of messing with his health can change his attack.
Also stop bringing up l4d, it's a completely different game. When a smoker or jockey gets a hold of you you can survive way longer to hold out for your team mates and even if you do die you can be rivived. A trapper can get you killed in two seconds flat ending the game for solo and having to wait to respawn next round on multiplayer.

Edit 2: since yall keep bringing up unrelated things and ignoring the real issue, I'm taking Miiukade's advice and not wasting anymore time here.

Adding an enemy that takes control away from the player are typically disliked these days.
I rather have a zapper that basically slows you down by around 70% when it zaps you than outright halting you

It's a pretty good idea, but then the EDARs are nerfed hard already.

Once, I had a trapper zap me right as the boss was preparing his barrage.

It is annoying to die because I get zapped at the absolute worst time.

Considering how many hours you got in PD2, where are your posts about cloakers and tasers?
I'll bet with a search I could find you complaining about those too. EDARs are here to stay, just as Tasers and Cloakers are to PD2. Considering how nerfed EDARs are, you guys are huge wimps.

There's no need to compare 2 different games that run on different sets of mechanics. Keep in mind that a variety of players really hate the EDARs. Not just the players that spend over 1k hours in the game. Even regular players and beginning players hate them. The EDARs actually got a HP increase to the head and the whole body in v1066 to counteract the armor nerf by the way.

that'd be badder if not worse, considering that trapper captures you briefly and you can break the line by killing them or jumping to gain distance before he holds you sorta reduces the effect.
Slowing would cause much more room for zeds to catch up to you cna kill you

First, EDARs haven't been nerfed that much. They got reduced armor health and TW fixed the bug that prevented them from having the EMP blast, then they were given higher base health to compensate for lower armor health. Second, no amount of nerfing to the Trapper's health or armor will fix its core mechanic of screwing over the player at the most annoying times by freezing them in place. That's like saying nerfing the Patriarchs movement speed would make his missile launcher less of a threat.

just shoot them in the core if you get grabbed, it takes like one 9mm round to kill it

Not being able to move at all is way worse than slowing down, even if it's briefly this game is so faced paced most of the time that just the three seconds is all it takes for a few crawlers or a bloat to kill the player. If it were just a slowing mechanic then there'd be a chance of saving yourself instead of just a 90% chance of instant death

Mechanics are way too different to compare, there are skills and weapons that counters specific enemies like shockproof that directly counters taser, explosives or explosive rounds that can stagger tasers, take off faceplates of dozers or kill shields, cloakers' headshot multiplier is super high, so just aim for head. Also pd2 has a down but not out mechanic, so one can inspire or revive them, while in kf once you lose all health, you're dead for the entire wave.

I could go on but i dislike both games to put my time in it

if you're slowed like what 70% 80% (i doubt it'd be that low then they'd be laughable to play against like the abomination as is now), i really don't see how that'd help you unless you had a med giving you a slight speed boost that could hopefully negate most of the effects.

Again just do the old razzle dazzle and jump before they're about to grab you.
