I usually run AA12 + HZ-12.
I personaly like the HZ-12 because of the magazine reload instead of shell by shell of the M4.

Nah usually get the HZ-12 first and then save for the AA.

When the official summer update came out they nerfed ammo pool and damage.

So I guess m4 ++AA12 is the meta then... do people go for reload speed or ammo cap?

honestly m4 is stronger dmg per shot then aa12 but aa-12 have high burst dmg...i like aa-12 and another wepon dosnet even matter i keep sg500 its pretty solid

The M4 has more damage and shots fast giving it high burst damage but its long reload prevents it from pumping out that damage consistently which is quite the opposite of the AA12 which has low damage per shot but a lot of shots for consistent DPS...

M4 + Medic Shotgun for me, occasionally i'll swap the M4 for the AA-12. M4's super tight spread helps against sirens and husks particuarily, and it never hurts to have more ways to heal your teammates when it's neccesary.

Sometimes i also like to carry a Deagle with me as a backup weapon. Cheap and powerful.

If you're not taking the Medic Shotgun you're doing it wrong.
I've been going AA12 and Medic Shotgun. Sure the M4 has more burst but the AA12 is more reliable overall. The Medic Shotgun is a great backup weapon while the AA12 is good for when things get hairy.

not taking the med shotgun is definitely not doing it wrong especially after it getting nerfed when it already wasn't taken very often
