now we have 6 weapons that are all basically starting at tier 3 and the same amount of dosh:
-zwelander for slashing through hoardes of enemies and hard strikes, but suffer speed at the expense of enormous range for a melee weapon anyhow. Decent blocking and some what decent damage.
-bone crusher now for melee and hitting fast with decent range and is useful for stunning, overall the best weapon to use to balance ♥♥♥♥ around because of how well how do i say it, all the stats are medium including damage resistance by blocking.
-eviscerator is mostly purely for ranged attacks while still being able to play zerker, but suffers from limited close range/point blank attacks as well as less effectiveness at melee attacks with m2. The upside is that the m1 released sawblades just tear through hoardes of zeds.
-pulverizer, a melee that's useful for incapping zeds by a mallet swing to the head, basically rendering them temporarily unconcious and make them fall to the ground. The M2 charged (by that i mean with ammo) attacks creates a small explosion that deals explosion damage, but also clears other nearby zeds or at least damages and stumbles them sometimes not always stumbles them. almost like the bonecrusher but not as defensively
then theres the new weapon the static strikers
-static strikers insanely fast swing speed (2nd fastest to the katana), decent damage and the m2 attack shocks enemies like if you threw a stun grenade. Perfect for incapping enemies, but especially EDARs in one hit. The downside being needing to be point blank to close range due to limited range, rather low damage making it so you have to aim for the head multiple times or 1 time with a well timed m2 electric strike, and the m2 strike needing to charge about 2 seconds before you release it. It feels like it can be for all zeds, like all melee weapons, but this weapon in particular was made for either kiting, 1 on 1 fights, or for medium zeds and above since trash only waste your time, even though you can practically 1-2 hit KO them with 1-2 punches, you gotta go mainly 1 by 1
You must be really a noobish zerker to not use melee for a perk specifically meant for melee combat with all these resistances and sh*t
Life is about using the most effective strategy for the job, and that was by far the Eviscerator. It was so OP they nearly halved its damage in the latest patch. Along with the instant block/parry the Eviscerator was by far the most OP weapon in the game. You could solo HOE with just it and still have ammo by the end.
Not to mention wave 25 on Endless, it took 3 headshots with the Eviserator to take down an Abomination.
I guess gaming isn't about winning for most people either. 🙄
Which for most people, includes winning. Just because you think the Eviscerator isn't fun doesn't mean it isn't. We could have a whole discussion on whether it should be a zerk weapon or not. Personally I think the nailgun would've been a much better surivivalist weapon, and doesn't really fit the zerk theme.

Wanna see a Survivalist perform even worse than ever? Use the Nailgun.
I'm afraid rango disagrees

Bare in mind this is pre beta and the Vlad got buffed. It was already the zerks best FP killer.
@dionjz people don't choose what's most effective, they chose what's easiest. What's effect is shooting stuff in the head because it kills faster which makes it more effective. But people gravitate to zerker because dispite how ineffective he is compared to other perks, zerk is easy to play at a level to get the job done.
Easier usually does equal more effective. Hitting headshots all the time on rapidly moving zeds just isn't that easy, adding in explosion effects everywhere in a 6 man game, and playing on a controller like many people do; it all adds up that the most effective way for most people is zerker. Hell, the EDARS that everyone have been complaining are a nightmare only take one hit from the static strikers to take down on HOE. They soak up bullets even in their weak points.
Yes but if you start using explosives to clear trash now you aren't playing demo as effectively as a large zed killer which is his entire purpose xD
Effectiveness in this context of finding the most efficient way of dealing with zeds - isn't a subjective metric, it's either more effective to land a handful of headshots or its not.
The trouble arises when people can't land those shots they go to the next best thing.
For example railsharp pre beta was massively OP being able to remove pretty much every large zed on the map yet dispite how effective this was you hardly ever saw SS being played in pubs.
Also the EDARs are actually bugged the moment they are supposed to take 1.4 damage to the chest once the armor is broken but ATM this isn't working as intended. Once it is you should be able to kill them much more easily as gunslinger and SS.
Demo will remain bad against them as will firebug.
But people will play those perks because they are more forgiving. Which is fine, but they are even designed to be less effective as they require going through massive body damage.
