Fleshpounds are generally considered the strongest non-boss zed. It's been this way since the original 2005 Unreal mod.

In KF1 with HoE difficulty
If you raged scrake you can't escape without getting damage, when you standing still you get less damage. Sharp and zerker can stun him with headshot hit.
If you raged FP without armor and damage resists he will kill you instantly with one strong hit even with 100hp. You can reset rage timer by breaking line of sight or letting FP to attack you.

In KF2 with HoE difficulty
If you raged scrake you can escape without getting damage. There are no way to stun him with 100% chance. Standing still like in kf1 is not a good idea anymore.
If you raged FP without armor and damage resists he can't kill you instantly, so medic always can save you. You can't reset rage timer by breaking line of sight.

You are correct in that Scrakes are weaker than Fleshpounds. Especially in raged mode, FPs have insanely higher resistance to CC and harder to aim at their weak points. You can actually just sprint in a straight line and can indefinately outrun a Scrake, but fleshpounds on the otherhand will alway catch up.

However! scrakes have instant KO Goomba stomps that I haven't seen fleshpounds do. I've died at least 3 times (usually on elevated positions) where the scrake would instantly kill me with a random jump on my head.

Each has their own quirks.

Scrake is weak to bullets, but strong against explosives.
If you enrage him then he'll never stop, but you can hold off on shooting him as you wish.

Flesh bois rage periodically, but require you to be hit in order to calm down.
They're resistant to most everything, but weak to explosives.

Generally, flesh pounders are higher priority due to the fact that you can just not engage scrakes. If you want the precise details about who is weak against what, you can look at these two links on the official KF2 wiki.

I kind of wish they'd increase Scrake speed when raged and increase scrake damage but bring back the ability to circle them like back in EA.
fleshpounds can take more damage
scrakes are fairly easy to kill, even a sharp can 1 shot him under the right conditions
fleshpound you practically have to be a demo to kill them in less than 4 shots.
The only advantage scrakes have is that that they don't become de-enraged once raged unlike fps

Honestly. If you couldnt kite the scrake with almost every perk then the Scrake would be stronger.
Since it can deal much more dmg in a much shorter time with his combos.

The FP feels more like a battering ram. Trying to split the team, creating chaos in the team, distracting them.

But since the scrake is easily kited...the FP is stronger

Scrake's harder to aim at during rage and is more dangerous damage vice, but less hp overall. Fleshpound's head doesn't move a lot even during rage, so it's easier to focus-fire it, and the rage mechanic can be abused to reduce both damage and threat level - one knife block is all it takes, really. And he has a weakspot on the chest aswell as the head.

So they're both not really that threatening to a capable squad. But things that mostly to blame for wipes are scrakes - they walk slowly as they spawn, and if fleshpounds spawn alongside them - most of the attention is spared towards FP's, and if ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan during fp takedown - you usually will have a scrake on the route of escape. And not all people know that you can bash past him safely.

You forgot Firebug with Husk Fireball Launcher, and Demo with the LAW (both could do it with bodyshots).

i agree with this for the most part, just 2 comments:

in kf1 the FP also had a 1-2 hit that you could get away with only one, still you had a 50/50 chance to die or worse without armor.

in kf2 having no 100% way to stun scrakes is probably due to bugs, because there are multiple things that should stun them 100% of the time as long as he is not on cooldown, but they don't always do.
