if it's toxic avoid it lol.
And those same asshats whinge about folks who would rather spend time with ppl they can relate/communicate with.
Ya pickin' up what I'm puttin' down here?
I support those Koreans btw.
Wish we here on the other side of the puddle could be a bit more selective without getting demonized.
Ah well. It'll all get sorted out here sooner or later. After the smoke clears.. ;)
Edit: I can offer some creative locations where you can store your identity politik b.s. if you've yet to catch on..
You think their food hygiene is toxic, you need to try Indonesian food.
If you need to lose weight, having the squits after eating most street food will help you.
Also - remember, S. Korea has some world champions in certain games (one who died of a heart attack when he finally stood up from a mammoth gaming session, because his body was so weak).
If I was psyops in N.Korea, I'd work to make their youth appear very unfriendly - so that they developed a bad reputation for the future and also infiltrate their games in order to encourage them to be quick to anger, so as to promote poor decision making as adults.
Try Thailand, China or (for English speaking) Singapore Servers - they are both quick and the community is more friendly.
I would say join Indonesian games, but the internet is ranked 3rd worst in the world for speed and not many people will have home computers to play games (plus it's Ramadan rn, so everyone is busy being tired and hungry so they can't concentrate at work and school).
I believe it might be something to do with ping more than anything else, as ppl from Korea, Japan and China will be happy to a server where they have high ping, but will not allow a player onto their game if the new person has high ping (because it is serious business).
Also, this is something that Western people might not understand - but... you know the divide and the type of people that end up with computers and good enough internet connection, who can afford luxuries such as the time to play games in SE Asia. esp in certain countries that think they don't use the bathroom, same as everyone else. KF2 in Indonesia costs 2-3 weeks wages, minimum. So imagine the type of kids who get to play there... Not that I am making excuses... Go to one town and everyone is fat and the malls are full. Go to another and everyone is thin and the malls are empty.
FWIW - Korean players of any game, in my experience, tend to take it very serious and often are picky because of this - it might be simply because your ping is too high, and nothing to do with that they check your profile and see your country flag - check my profile - I live in địa ngục :p So many remove the flag from your profile and see if it helps. Western ppl think they have racist issues - they must never have lived in SE Asia, where even how you talk or what you think is judged against.
I'm only friends with one Korean, and she is married to my Hapkido teacher (people here learn Silat or Karate at school, so it's difficult to find bule who aren't Chinese or Japanese).
I'm not being racists here - I'm only presenting my experience, along with some facts about how people have decided they want to play games.
This is probably the most sensible answer you will get from anyone in Steam forums.
If you give the IP addresses of the Korean Servers - we can all join them.

Heh. And probably get our arses kicked ;)
Takes me back to the good old days of Age of Empires - Rise of Rome. Dialup even..
Those pesky Koreans were our western clans nemesis. (UnTaMeD btw). Because they were goooood. And we weren't exactly garbage ourselves.
Some of the most intense gaming I've ever had.. good times.
Serious players don't like players with higher than 100 ping.
Some servers are set so players are auto kick-ban on joining if they are over 100 ping.
// you can set a filter for <100 ping and choose from there, that is what I do).
I was recently kicked off of a server for being a firebug lvl 25. There were no
message that stated "firebugs aren't allowed" and I didn't even get a chance
to switch perk for the next round.
