Also, maybe try investing in some new hardware. AMD got some affordable ones.

Did you try setting it to window mode, change it, then change it back to fullscreen ?
Some say to try Borderless window, but you have to set Borderless=True in KFSystemSettings.ini see if that helps.
Why tho
Also, not to invalidate your issue but my PC is a relic from 2012 and I can run it fine on full resolution but with all graphics turned to minimum.
yeah I just use that. bizarre that I had to click ALL RESOLUTIONS to find it
Wow, that's an oldie! Having a laptop work properly for 7 years is really good.
Between 2008 and 2012 I used a beefy 19" laptop that had bad overheating problems, to the point where I had it sitting on a horizontal window fan just to keep it cool.
That's nuts! And even more impressive that it can run a new-ish game, haha.
If it starts struggling more, try buying a small window fan for $50 and setting your comp on it, at least that will keep it super cool and will free up a USB port.
